Anybody else nerd out on Analog Modular Hardware?
    #17358917 -

I go through phases always coming to the conclusion I will never have enough $ to make it happen.  Alas, I still get the urge to know about it all, to think I might get my hands on some some day.

I recently scoured the interwebz for the best analog modular emulation I could find in order to practice patching in case I was ever allowed to tinker on one.

If you ever want to try a modular VST that kicks ass an is in free beta right now:

On the other hand, back to proper analog.  I dream about the stuff.  It fascinates me to the ends of the earth.  I like just watching videos of other peoples studios and listen to them explain their gear.

Here is a fun lil jam on a Doepfer Dark Time, Dark Energy & Moog Voyager

Any shroomerites own analog or analog+modular gear?

Dopefer, the patch chord beast.

I'm too intimidated by that shit :smilingpuppy:

The pseudo patch bay stuff in Absynth/FM8 is about as close as I'll get at the moment.

You should check out Tassman duneraver.  Its got every sort of module you can think of.  They do a pretty good job of emulating analog equipment.  Not free unfortunately but you can easily find it if you wanted to try it out.

I ended up downloading chromaphone by the same company.  Was not super happy with it, but interesting concept.

Hmm interesting.  Looks like they probably used bits of the same software and threw it in another package.  I haven't used Tassman for a few years but when I was in school I thought it was pretty cool.  Roughly equivalent to the ARP we had to use without all the static and crackling from the old analog equipment at school.

That looks awesome, I'll have to check it out.  I'm looking to do some writing when I'm out on the seas soon on a cruise ship to play woodwinds.  I already picked up a m-audio 25 key midi controller and another midi controller with some extra faders/knobs to play with.
