And what is fiscal conservatism?  Less taxes on the rich and less regulation.

Yeah, that is exactly what we need.  It will trickle down, right?

Simple fiscal discipline spending less than what is taken in how the money is spent is obviously a point of contention for conservatives and liberals but I think it is imperative for the US to reduce the debt by any means necessary.

I think most of our debt is owed to domestic sources, but it doesn't matter.  Just stop paying, take control of the land, and give ownership to local communities.

This wouldn't be a problem if people kept being greedy and trying to live beyond there means. :mad2:

Who exactly is living beyond their means?  Some people don't even have any means.  I am saying we spread the means out equally between the populace.  I'm am all for taking some people down a few pegs, but luckily they are in the minority.

Actually, it's less taxes on those who actually pay taxes, with some put into the pie from those who don't currently pay federal income tax.

Ah, so you want the freeloaders who currently pay ZERO in federal income taxes, to start paying their share?

Shifting more burden onto the middle class.

Why should richer people, who have been allowed to prosper largely because of government and societal protections, not have to give back more?

The wealthiest pay the most in federal taxes as well as donate obscene amounts of money to charities and other organizations for the betterment of humanity. What this nation needs is entitlement reform, less spending, and a return to fiscal sanity.

No. Shifting the burden to those who currently pay nothing.

And who said anything about the rich not giving back more? They already do. Should not all have to share the burden?

You know (again), those that pay nothing?

Why should people who have nothing but debt be expected to pay into a system that has let them down?  That would just compound the problems they already have and essentially make them slaves.

Oh I feel so bad for those in the highest tax bracket, they are so burdened.  People who make less than 16k/year really need to start pulling their weight.

If you are a part/beneficiary of the system, you contribute to the system.

It's not a terribly difficult concept.

Funny you worry about the lower income workers being slaves, yet you have no problem with the upper income having the fruits of their labors torn from them. You know, like a slave.

Taxes alone won't cut it spending cuts are going to need to happen and alot of americans are slaves to debt becuase they thought they could just buy shit that they didn't fully pay for. So really its there own fault the people who saved there money should not be punished by those who wasted it.
