i am planning to help a freind grow some mexicana a strain truffles I need to know if rye grass seed is the same thing as arrow head mills brand whole grain rye sold at my local health food store if not will whole grain rye still work? i would also like to know where I should look to find rye grass seed thanx uneasy1

whole rice works too or a mix of rice and seed. seed is very expensive in some places. also make sure it is rye grass seed in the garden centres. many have other cheaper grass seed but it is not rye grass. thats not to say it wont work too (or better) but i havent heard any reports on using other grass seed

has anyone tried using a mixture of whole grain rye and rye grass seed? i would think  it would be easier to shake . if so does anyone have any ideas about ratios of seed to grain and water content? :mushroom2: thanks uneasy1
