Confusion; rye grass seeds and p. mexicana A strain

I have 1 spore print of p. mexicana ?A? strain, the print is pretty weak. I want to use rye grass seeds so I went to buy some, but there was many diffrent rye grass seeds. The seller told me italian rye grass seeds was most common around here so I bought 25 Kg of that. Is there any diffrence on the grass seeds? Its no problem for me to change it to something else if this was wrong.
So I will start with malt agar and spawn into smaller jars with rye grass seeds and when I have enough I want to spawn some bigger containers for truffel production. I understand they need to be somewhere dark with around 23-25 C. But how much air circulation does it need? Can I put them into larger air tight containers and open them up once in a while to exchange air?
I want to use deep trays that has lids, if air exchange is important I should probably make a few holes on the lids? Should I leave much space in the tray for the sclerotias?ie. If one tray has the height 10 cm would a 6 cm layers with mycelium and rye grass seeds and 4 cm with air for the sclerotia growth be enough..
I understand that a long cold shock makes them fruit. If one round is about 4 months at what point should I try fruit? will it still produce sclerotia after it has been fruited?

Rye grass seed, is grass seed or LAWN seed. The cheaper, the better. You don't want the BEST seeds, often the best ones have fungicide. Make sure your seeds do not contain fungicide.
They do not need much air at all to create sclerotia.
Getting them to fruit and print is difficult for a new mycologist.
Good luck.

This would get more answers in advanced. From the threads I've read over there researching my Tamps I've heard to wait until they form a little sclerotia before trying to fruit them. I'd say to try after about a month into sclerotia production. I've also heard of using extended cold shocks (1-4 weeks).
They don't need fresh air exchange but they do need gas exchange. Don't store them in an airtight place..just put a hole in the bin somewhere and that will be enough.
What are you talking about spreading them out on trays and 4cms being enough to form sclerotia? It's not like mushrooms, they don't grow on the surface. They'll grow within the substrate in the bags or jars, they don't need any room..they just consume the substrate. You just leave it in the bags or jars until your ready to harvest..then you break it open and break up all the substrate pulling out the stones.

Read this thread, especially the links posted in it. It is the best collection of Mexicana links I know of.
