Time for Obama to go and to take that scumbag Carney with him
    #17093124 -

http://hotair.com/archives/2012/10/24/senate-intel-vice-chair-weve-been-demanding-these-e-mails-since-the-benghazi-attack/

Quote:
MR. CARNEY: No, I’m saying that based on information that we — our initial information, and that includes all information — we saw no evidence to back up claims by others that this was a preplanned or premeditated attack; that we saw evidence that it was sparked by the reaction to this video. And that is what we know thus far based on the evidence, concrete evidence — not supposition — concrete evidence that we have thus far.

We now know that everything Carney said is a lie, including "and" and "the".  There was no demonstration at all, it was clearly well planned and that the administration knew from the first hours that an al Q affiliate claimed credit within a few hours.

Quote:
Bear in mind that since this time, we have discovered that the State Department watched this unfold in real time and has video of the attack which is still hasn’t shared with Congress. The CIA station chief told them in a cable 24 hours later that this was a terrorist attack, and that they even knew who had commanded it. Finally, we have last night’s revelation that the Situation Room got e-mails from the intel community while the attack was underway that clearly gave evidence that this was no spontaneous demonstration gone amok. They had plenty of evidence — “concrete evidence,” to use Jay Carney’s terminology — that the sacking of the consulate and assassination of our Ambassador was a planned terrorist attack.

We also have the idiot administration passing the buck all over the place about the denial of security that had been requested.  At some point more security was requested for Stevens.  Somebody denied it.  The top dogs (Obama and Hillary) are saying they don't deal with such mundane requests.  Well who did make the decision not to give Stevens any protection in a coup-ridden shithole?.  And who decided that Carney would lie so bald-facedly?

There are two outrages here.  One is that these incredibly stupid people denied security in an area that so obviously needed it.

And two is that they so egregiously lied about it, top to bottom.

This actually goes directly to my point about Obama that he cannot actually perform a job.  All he is good at is applying for a job.  Once he has to perform he proves himself utterly incapable of anything except sucking up to the boss.  He is the ultimate brown nosing cunt.

If we're talking terrorists attacks that happened during President Obama's term, should we compare it to his predecessor?

Is his predecessor holding office?  How far back do we go?  Should we use Andrew Johnson or Woodrow Wilson as justification for our current leaders failings?  I find it rather ironic that the candidate using "Forward" for his campaign slogan continues to remind people of the past.

Its a race to the bottom with people who think in such a manner.  As long as there's a boogey man to compare against, nothing is inexcusable, and everything is possible.

It should be embarrassing for people to talk like that.  I can support many people with nasty positions, qualities, but would be ashamed to apologize for them by appealing to the fact there might possibly be someone, somewhere, who's worse.

What is the administration's defense here?  Rather quickly, when it was revealed the "protestors" had heavy weaponry and acted in a coordinated matter, it seemed strange to think this was anything other than preplanned.

What exactly do they have to say for themselves?  I've not heard anything except the typical pseudo-humility by Obama who doesn't particularly seem to think this whole thing is much of a problem and doesn't feel the need to tell the American people why.

Comparing President Obama to his predecessor is important because Governor Romney is using 17 of the same Bush advisers for foreign policy!  After the crazy comments that Governor Romney has made, do you really think he'd do better in the same kind of situation?  He would alienate the U.S. from our allies by taking an overly aggressive approach and not working with any other governments in the process.

Hard to see how he'd do worse, given Obama did nothing.  We should have sent in the FBI right away and if Libya gave us any shit about safety, tell them they'll either accept a security detail of marines or kiss any further assistance away.

Obama was worthless, a rock could have performed the same function (better actually, at least a rock won't lie to you).

Aggressive on what?  Iran's the only conceivable thing, and we should be more aggressive with them.  Fruitcakes like that do not need nuclear weapons, and there's some evidence of intent in that direction.  Their regime is going to either implode or radically change in the intermediate term, and we don't need them handing off their tech/product to whoever comes next (or to whoever manages to run away with it when their theocracy gets torn down by their people).

Bomb the labs- the world does not need to be dealing with a regime like that with nuclear weapons.

Sure, if you want to create countless more enemies of the US and possibly start another world war.

How would that possibly create a world war?  There aren't a lot of states that give a shit about Iran, and many of the neighbors are more worried about them than the US is- they are the ones who would face the risk from their bomb or naval reactors.

The enemity of the reasonable people of Iran is a concern, but seems less of one than fruitcakes with nukes/weapon's grade uranium/tech to make weapon's grade uranium.  A simple explanation of what those people know allready: Iran's a belligerant state we can't let breach the law and threaten people with nukes.  We should be friends with the Iranian people and help them establish a free Iran if possible, and make that plain to them.

Quote:
Do you believe we know exactly where all their labs are located?

A signifigant number of them, given they have been hardening some bunkers and demolishing other buildings to cover up evidence they likely moved underground.  Either way, any delay is a good delay.  Centrifuges aren't the most durable things around.

Quote:
What if we don't bomb all of them... wouldn't that be justification for them to attack us with the products of the remaining labs?

Yes, which is why they should be bombed before they have a bomb.

Quote:
Also, I find it ironic you are supporting Gary Johnson: did you know that he is against bombing Iran and would rather attempt to negotiate a peaceful, diplomatic agreement with them?

Yes, and I agree with your statement as stated, and Johnson goes further than you detail in prefering peace, but I break with him on that.  Setting up relatively safe reactors for Iran would be a reasonable solution if possible, but I doubt it will be.  They are too proud and have alterior motives not involving their energy program.

Wouldn't change much, if anything.

Most that hate us... still will.

Most that like us... still will.

Whatever number of people that suddenly hate us, will likely be balanced by those that suddenly like us.

Iran should not be allowed to further develop nukes.

I don't want Iran to have nukes, but it's pretty fucking hypocritical for the US to be trying to stop it when we have a huge stockpile of nukes.

...And we're the only country ever to use atomic weapons against another country.

We're (USA) not insane, we're not likely to be unstable in the immediate future, we're not in violation of the nonproliferation treaties.  There are signifigant differences here, and the simple "has nuclear weapons" isn't neccesarily the standard.  Israel has em, and while I wish they didn't and had been stopped, I don't worry about them collapsing due to a popular uprising and their nukes turning up in some bazaar.

And when we start selling weapons to terrorists, that hypocrisy might matter to me. The Iranian government is fucking nuts.

Yup, and keeping nukes from the Iranians might go a long way to helping keep the US as the only nation to have done so.

Yup. The hypocrisy of that concerns me far more than the hypocrisy of the US having once, 67 years ago, dropped two.

The militant multi-culturalism and emotional coddling of younger generations has made emotional concerns with poorly defined ideals the deciding factor in someone's opinion.

I mean for fucks sake, these people have the most oppressive and anti-american regimes that actually take their holy text literally, and they are acquiring nuclear weapons. We can't invade the sovereignty because we have 'no right' to force them to do things according to the irrational pussies.

We live in a violent world, and there are people who refuse to engage in semi-rational discussion that also want to destroy us, but we live in a culture where everyone is becoming fucking pussies through naively wanting to coexist, an idea they are so proud of as to let it grace the back of their bumper with a symbol for islam on it. I wonder if they just plug their ears whenever they are repeatedly explained that the Quran is a barbaric book that the abundant faithful take literally and without question.

If someone were to try to start a new religion and released a book with commandments of the Quran's nature, they would likely be arrested for starting a violent cult.

Yes, it does if those are the standards: i.e. "no crazy theocracies with nuclear weapons" rather than "no nuclear weapons"

Further, the nonproliferation treaty locks in the current states and bars future ones- there's some worrying evidence that Iran may be trying to develope nuclear weapons, and I think we should take steps to foreclose that opportunity for the intermediate term.

More or less my concerns.  I think its important to act ethically and legally, but things like this are a big issue.  We can't have people who think the messiah is going to drop out of the sky any minute and usher in armagheddon having nuclear weapons.

Who armed Saddam Hussein?

Who armed the Afghan Mujahideen?

Who armed the al Qaeda Libyans who killed the US middle-man arms dealer Ambassador Stevens?

Apparently they have nothing to say:

Quote:
(CNSNews.com) - The White House is declining to say when President Barack Obama first learned of three e-mails that the State Department sent to the White House on Sept. 11, 2012, directly notifying the Executive Office of the President that the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was under attack, that U.S. Amb. Chris Stevens was at the Benghazi mission at the time of the attack, and that the group Ansar al-Sharia had taken credit for the attack.

The White House also declined to say when the president first met with the National Security Council after the Benghazi attack.

“I have been asked by one of our spokespeople to relay ‘that we decline to comment,’” said White House National Security Staff aide Debbie Bird in a written response to CNSNews.com.

Abject liars being covered for by a complicit media.  If it was Bush this would be on the front page of the Times everyday.  As late as October 15th they continued to report that it was about the video.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/10/16/It-s-October-15-And-The-New-York-Times-Still-Claims-Benghazi-Attack-Due-To-Video
Quote:
After U.S. intelligence, U.S. security officers in Libya, Reps Mike Kelly (R-PA) and Dan Burton (R-IN), and even the State Dept say the Benghazi attack was terrorism, The New York Times is claiming "there is little doubt what occurred" -- it was the video.

Although Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy referred to the attack as terrorism less than 24 hours after it took place, and even the White House was forced into admitting this truth publicly a few weeks later, the Times says nope -- it was simply a group of Islamic militants reacting "emotionally" in "retaliation for the video."

And how does The New York Times know this? They know it because they spoke to a 20-year old man named Mohamed Bishari who watched the attack,  and Bishari said, "There was no protest or anything of the sort."

In other words, there was no organized attack: it was a spontaneous outburst over a 15-minute YouTube video, carried out by people who don't exactly look like subscribing to internet service is priority one.

The New York Times' article goes on to list previous attacks on other U.S. and Western interests that were allegedly in reaction to videos, depictions, or other insults against "the Prophet."  They even try to show how these occurrences disprove security officer Eric Nordstrom's claims regarding Benghazi.

Do you know why the NY Times goes so crazy over SuperPACS?  Because they're pissed they aren't the only one any more.
