I would say they SHOULD be fine..as long as it wasnt OVER 100 degrees. When pre-sterilizing casing material..you should just bake it in the oven (dry) for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Im not SURE this would work with peat moss tho. Ive always had problems with 50/50 casing layers...always got contams. I pressure cooked the 50/50 mix too, for about 40 minutes..but still got contams.

BoomerZ, Do you use something besides 50/50 peat/verm for casing? or just deal with contams?

Now i use just vermiculite as my casing layer..it works very well.
