public defenders (pretenders) are 9 times/10 so shitty and they barely work to help you, they just pressure you to take plea deals. I've known quite a few people over the years who had gotten in trouble and at first went with the public defender, who pressured them to take a plea deal and do time, and then ended up hiring an attorney who got ended up getting the charges dropped on some technicality.

Many of the attorneys were like "wtf theres huge hole's in the state's case, your public defender could have easily gotten these charges thrown out if they had even tried a little bit"

it really depends
I usually talk to both private lawyer and public defender first, see what they got to offer
If it's close then I choose public defender, they're busy and they don't give a shit don't mean all of them are bad. and they are friends with government so at least you have that.

14 grams is still a misdemeanor . Might as well do a few days in jail or fight it off .
If they would of caught you with 20 or more grams you would be fucked .

It's a misdemeanor if you possess it. Delivery is a felony even if its a g.

you all seriously need to stop selling drugs and putting yourselves in these sorts of situations. literally every way you approach the situation logically, leads to the conclusion that "this is not worth it"
