Dogfish Head Beer

Anyone here a fan of this stuff?
Brewed in Milton, DE, it's probably my favorite brewery. It's right next door to my buddy's house down in DE.
I think, for the most part, it's an East Coast distribution.
Currently enjoying a nice 60 Minute IPA. Definitely my favorite IPA, and tied for my all time favorite beer with their Indian Brown Ale.
That beer is strong as hell, thick, malty, and fucking DELICIOUS. Tastes a bit like Jager, I fucking LOVE IT.

I've got the same glass, with a nice cold 60 minute in it from this pic:


I love all their stuff, for the most part. Their 90 minute IPA is fucking divine. 9% ABV and is known worldwide as one of the best beers around.
Their 120 minute IPA is produced every year, and ranges from 15-20% ABV! Sold by the bottle, the stuff is expensive. Tastes more like a wine/liquor than a beer.

Their 90min ipa was pretty good.
Not worth the price for me though.

ah see I'm not a huge fan of flying dog. Whenever I buy a new kind of Dogfish I expect to  be blown away, and few times have I been let down.

Anunnakian, I can see that. I don't buy it mainly for that reason. Here, it's 10 bucks for a 4 pack of it.
it's also 10 bucks for a 6 pack of their "normal" beer.
Either way, you're paying the same price for the alcohol content.
6 pack of 60 minute is 6 X 6%, or 36% total.
4 pack of 90 minute is 4 X 9%, again, 36% total.
You get the same amount of drunkenness out of each if you drink all four or six.

Raison D'Etre is one of the best beers I have tasted.
I used to be able to get it in the local grocery store too, before their damn TV show came out!

Dogfishhead is great beer but unfortunately i cant get it where i am.

I had the privilege to enjoy a bottle of Bitches Brew last winter.

90 > 60.  how is it not worth it? 
9%, 4 beers/$10, 36% total, and way more delicious than some shit like bud/miler/coors etc.
you can get a 12 pack of bud light which is around $9-10, maybe 40%abv total, yet you drink 66% less liquid for more effect.  how is that at all not worth it?

Raison D'Etre is very similar in taste to the Indian Brown Ale I mentioned in my OP. Great beer, but the slight difference in taste puts the IBA in the number 1 position in my books. So.damn.good.:drooling:

dogfish also had an espresso porter years ago which was 10-12% and so dark and delicious.  fuckers cancelled it though.  also the vanilla bean porter was the shit too.  canned as well.
but the punkin ale seasonal is fucking great.  :awebig:

They brew a lot of stuff as a one time only deal. If it makes enough fans, they consider releasing it every year, then finally as a 4/6 pack.

Only coffee kind of beer I ever had was a bomber (22oz bottle) of Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout. 5 bucks and I got drunk, on top of it all, it was FUCKING DELICIOUS.

They have it on tap near me.  You can order samplers and they line up like 10 glasses in front you.

i've been a beer/wine geek for a while.  i actually work for a micro-brewery that is strongly inspired by the dog fish head business model. 


i love midas touch!  they also do a limited release called namaste that i really like, of course, but it's a little light for me.  and of course, their 60 and 90 minute IPA's are amazing.

I made a post about Dogfish Head earlier.

Dogfish has some decent brews, but when a lot of them average 4$ to 8$ for a 16oz, and their 750ml's average in the 15$ range, it really brings me to question whether the price is worth it or not.

They aren't something I would drink on a regular basis, not because they're such an elegant or strong beer, but solely because of their price.
