Best beer ever?

Hey there!
Since my stay in the U.S. I am asking one question to myself: Wich beer is the best?
It is because I tried Miller, Bud and several further American kinds of beer and everytime I was close to get really really sick
As a German I still think that German beer is the best! Do you have different opinions?
My favourites are Augustiner, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr and many more (I know them all *gg*)!
P.S: I am a little drunk... so excuse my bad English if it is there

93 Dogfish head ale 60 min IPA is my favorite u.s. beer. However, it's very much on the hoppy side and not to everyone's liking. As a friend put it "it tastes like someone dumped an ashtray in my mouth". It's a Delaware brewery. And I'll second DieCommie's choice of negra modelo as absolutely top notch! 93 93/93

Personally my fav beer right now is a microbrew from CO, called Fat Tire you might know what I'm talking about. This guy from Boulder, went to Belgium, rode his bike all over the country to different brewerys. Taking notes, and picking up recipes. Then he came back to CO and started brewing a Belgian Ale, great shit.
Blue Moon Winter Ale "Full Moon" is the shit too, plus its 6.0% alcohol!

You guys all think that Bud, Coors and Miller are beer? God-awful watered-down piss dribbles is more like it. The good American beers are all from Micro-Breweries on the West Coast.
Dick's Lava Rock Porter (Centralia, WA) Bridgeport IPA bottle-conditioned (Portland, OR) Eel River Triple Exultation Certified Organic (Fortuna, CA) Rogue Dead Guy Ale (Newport, OR)
For imports, my fave is Pilsner Urquell.

I never liked beer when I was first starting to drink... mainly because the only beer I was ever exposed to was crappy bud light.
Uhm, my faves are:
Stella Artoise Sam Adams Negro Modelo Boulevard Wheat Ale
and.... if I'm going to a party where it's just gonna be a bunch of people getting drunk, I'll bring High Life.
I might add, that since I'm in oklahoma, our beer is only 3.2% alcohol. So not only is the crappy domestic beer shitty tasting, it's only half as strong. The higher-end beers that we get at liquor stores are full alcohol though.

fat tire is the shit, one of my favourites. sam adams winter lager has been a recent enjoyment as well. i love all the microbrews in the west. there's a place in missoula, mt called the kettlehouse...they have a brew called coldsmoke scotch ale that is my all time fav. also one called bongwater porter that is very tasty. there's too much good beer out there to drink anything by bud or miller.

America has really good micro breweries, but are hard to find. My favorite beers include hoegaarden, juplier, hook norton, cimey, kronenbourg blanc and there's probably a whole bunch of eisblok bier that I havent' had the pleasure of sampling yet.

It's a toss up between Oregon and Wisconsin microbrews.
I like Oregons tho:
Black Butte Porter Mirror Pond Dead Guy Arrogant Bastard Full Sail
I like Colorados Fat Tire a lot too.
As far as other countries, Germany has the best brews.

Mexican beer is the bomb. So is Canadian beer. Oh my goodness I need to go to Canada again!
Czech beer's good. German beer's good. English beer's good. I've had some good Japanese beer, too.
Coors and Budweiser (the brand, not the style) are for tailgate parties in the trailer park. If you're going to have cheap American beer, do it Grandma-style: Lucky, Rainier, Olympia, PBR, Hamm's. But actually don't do that at all, please.
I'm eating beer bread right now. MacTarnahan's Porter - not the best drinking beer, but it makes a good bread.

I'm having a New Belgium 1554 right now, yummy. I've never really had a micro-brew that didn't serve at least one beer I liked. The more beers I taste the more I get into peoples who brew their own, those batches are the best. I like em stout and dark, some times I even like the really hoppy ones.

My actual Grandma actually has a sixer of Billy Beer and another sixer of MASH beer in her garage fridge. For collector's value of course. Luckily she's very lucid or she'd get it confused with her Oly. Sharp as a tack, she is.

Hey AA
Isn't Oktoberfestbier a special offering from Augustiner? I thaught so... but you're right... it could be the best 8)
But the best thing was that we got it all for free, remember ? I think we have to check it out again next year, lol

Miller Lite, Budweiser, Bud Light, Corona, and Natural Ice. Of the beers you can pick up anywhere in town I enjoy Sweet Water Blue and Hoegaarden. I also like In Heat wheat when its around. Getting beer that isn't horrendous piss water is harder when you're under 21.

There's no real difference between 90% of the lagers you get worldwide. It's just branding. They're all equally tasteless, except maybe for Corona which is so tasteless they need to stick a lime in it so it doesn't taste like soda water.
Having had many good memories watching my team kick ass in the world cup in Germany i have a soft spot for Lowenbrau and Bitburger but they're pretty standard tasting beers. Ein weiss bier bitte! Toorrrrrr!
Belgian beers have the best taste, i like Leffe and Hoegaarden.
For standard Saturday night fare though its just a schooner of Carlton Draught..

I was just talking about the typical ones the ones you find at your local store, it's hard (at least for me) to find a place that sells all the different shit.

I like Oregons tho:
Black Butte Porter Mirror Pond Dead Guy Arrogant Bastard Full Sail
I like Colorados Fat Tire a lot too.
As far as other countries, Germany has the best brews.
Arrogant Bastard is from California by a company called Stone in the San Diego area

I will never understand you Europeans. Ive been living in Europe for hte past like 5 months and honestly the beer here is terrible. Germany has like 5 types of beer that are all bland and boring. Where are your ales man? Have you guys ever heard of a plant called hops? Why has your country not realized that just drinking pilseners, lagers, bocks, and dunkels might get a bit old. Oh but wait you also have an altbier which is a horrible imitation of an English ale, or a Kolsch which is a boring tasting lager. Belgium is alright but their beers are too similar to each other, and they lack hops, and they love sweetness too much, how about a refreshing beer?. Italy,Spain,Czech Republic are too horrible to even comment on. Honestly for all the crap us Americans get about Budwesier youd think that the most famous beer in france wouldn't be a beer even worse like Kronenburg, or Peroni in Italy.
The only country in Europe that can make good and varied beer is England, I will always tip my hat to those gentlemen for their beer creativity.
However the US has them all beat by a very wide margin now.

Im always amazed at how bad the beer in Europe is, ive basically stopped drinking beer here. There is a bar in town that serves English beer so I can get away from the yellow shit and the no hops lagers

As a friend put it "it tastes like someone dumped an ashtray in my mouth". It's a Delaware brewery. And I'll second DieCommie's choice of negra modelo as absolutely top notch! 93 93/93
yuck i hate DFH i think it tastes so fucking nasty
whats with the 93s?
