he is the new jesus christ.
plastic and evil? want a better life? just do this shit:
Maximize your energy and help restore your body to its natural state of health and vitality.
Develop deep and lasting relationships for profound fulfillment.
Train your mind and body so that the most powerful emotions you have ? your certainty, your faith, your passion, and your determination ? are as automatic as breathing.
Discover an inspiring life purpose that will add a greater depth of meaning to everything you do.

Be 6" taller than everyone else and talk so exeburently that you can't be denied about very general ways to make your life BETTER (because let's face it, it sucks).

if we were in ancient china, we would consider him a sage, but why in our modern world do we disregard his genius?

Tony is great... it's a shame that he is dismissed so easily by people simply because he appears on informercials, which is the medium for vast transmissions of bullshit in various forms.
Tony is a gem among that bullshit. Yes, he gives some seemingly simple advice, and if you purchase his products it gets a lot more specific. I think everyone should look into what Tony has to say. If only everyone could be half as peaceful and intelligent as he is...

I agree with the comment about how easily dismissed Tony Robbins is in our culture. I think it's some tangent of schadenfreude - we love to see people fail, ergo we hate when people are SO successful that we look like worms by comparison.
Tony Robbins give incredibly sound advise in an incredibly simple and easy to follow manner. Yah, it's not easy to completely restructure your life, but it is doable, and it is doable in a very very positive way. I agree that he focuses a bit too much on money, but if you've read (or listened to) him, his methodology has you focusing on the things that are important to you. I think that by default, many of the users of the Shroomery are a bit less object/money oriented and more spiritually oriented than the average population, so we understand that less than most. But it is one of his focuses, hence the importance in his philosophy.
But as with all of his teachings, you can take what works for you and leave the rest. The whole key is to find out what motivates you, what your goals are, and then how to make your motivations become actions that will lead you to the results that you want, all the while finding out what your negative motivators are and figuring out how to replace those behaviours with positive ones. It's very sound - it really is.
Before you come to judgement on him because he's freakishly large and his teeth don't quite look human, give one of his books a read. Serisously. I recommend "Unlimited Power", but "Awaken the Giant Within" is very solid too.
I find it strange, and not a little bit sad, that people mock someone from whom they could learn SO much.

Damn... the last time I used the term schadenfreude was on an ex-girlfriend that was out of line. hehe
In all honesty, I couldn't give a shit about Tony Robbins or his large, white teeth. He's an intense sumnabitch and he probably does have some good stuff to say... but I'm not paying jack squat to have him preach to the choir. Maybe I'll meet him in an elevator one day and the manipulative bastard will get me to suck him off... wait... oh nevermind...
