I think many here have a distorted view of average american life.  There is absolutely no reason for the some of the richest and most free generations in earth's history to stage a violent revolt.  People stage violent revolts to live like us.  And if you dont agree, you just have hippie angst.  :razz:  :tongue:

true, but as our standard of living decreases, the chances for civil unrest increases. i don't know if it'll happen in our lifetime but the age of the corporations will end with staggering, unprecedented bloodshed.

The whole post seems as though it would contain valuable information, but it doesn't. Obviously those protesting wouldn't use technology that could be intercepted as a means of communication. Also, you rely heavily on the idea that the military are brainless zombies waiting to carry out the governments instructions, regardless of the orders or their impacts.


No, a revolution could happen in many ways, I was just providing examples.  The military has superb technology that is far more advanced than the limited weapons that we have access too.  Unmanned drones, jet fighters, bombs, tanks, you name it.  A bunch of citizens with guns and napalm aren't going to cause any damage.  And even the weapons one could potentially find on the black market couldn't match the governments' weaponry.

And who the fuck are you kidding?  How is anyone going to organize a big enough crowd of people to revolt without internet, phones, etc?  You think someone is just going to go out in the street and start yelling "Follow me!" and a huge crowd will spontaneously form, with people armed with advanced weaponry, ready to go and take down the government?  How would they communicate, especially over long distances in this day and age without some form of technology?

and that might be the only criteria with which the army could possibly be in agreement with a nationwide revolutionary movement.
Its not to say they might be for all the other points of reason
that keeps the revolutionary boat afloat...

They might totally disagree with wanting to overthrow the regime just insomuch as they want to oppress the people and cause a real stalemate too.

People are so hysterical about current affairs, I swear they need to switch off the TV and read a friggin' book for a change. Has it always been thus?

I personally feel that if a revolution occurred in the U.S. it would boil down to five or six separate revolutions. You'd have the Republic of California, which would suck up Oregon and perhaps Nevada and Washington; the Republic of Texas, which would gobble up Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona; Dixieland (southeast), and New England (northeast) with their old-school borders.

Oh, and I bet Utah would go apeshit and grab as much territory as possible. They would probably annex a bunch of the midwest.

Colorado would be America's answer to Switzerland, neutral and independent.
