Replying to your "have you eaten them and do you get high?". Yes and Very, have been eating these things for many years, same ones every season as do the rest of the country. As for the potency these things are very strong and very wild visually, dose can range from one 4-5cm cap to 20 if you willing to leave the planet. I have never tried any other Shrooms to compare but can assure you that they are very potent. They grow seasonal for only a couple of months a year, around this time (autumn). As for the spores you tell me.Thanks for the link, will go look. Cheers Boop

According to the Audubon guide, the 'Potent Psilocybe' is Psilocybe baeocystis. Kinda hard to id your shroom from a vague description. Any chance of scanning and posting a pic of them? Have you eaten them, did they get you high? I'd love to get a print, please email me!

What are the growing conditions for these shrooms? Do they grow on wood or dung? I would also be interested in getting a print from one of these babies.------------------ Be sure to check out www.3mshrooms.homestead.com for your spore needs

OK so i found my local Shroom,as for where it grows, only in the woody forests,as in rotton wood and moss. Psilocybe aucklandii Psilocybe aucklandii is described as a new species from New Zealand. It belongs to Section Zapotecorum. Can someone compare the potency of these to some of the others from its family. Can someone point me in the direction for the method of growing these shrooms, what cake method is best for this strain? Thanks for any help boop PS would you want spores from this or do you have it over there already? [IMG]http://www.shroomery.org/ubbnoncgi/uploads/PsAuck.gif[/IMG

I have a friend from Australia who has told me about the "gold tops" and also the "blue meanies". They are both loose terms for shrooms that grow wild there. From what I could gather from him they seem to be strains of Cubensis. He has seen the different types of Cubensis that I have grown and claimed that they are similar. However, he is not a mushroom expert and I should really grill him about it to get a better idea of what species they are. Maybe I can get him to have one of his mates back home send a pic in the wild or maybe even a take a print and send it to me. I am very interested to know what species the "gold tops" and the "blue meanies" are. Have you heard of the "blue meanies"?------------------ Baldy

you who want p.aucklandii spore prints: do you plan to use them for commercial purposes? i assume you were going to offer a rate that would fairly compensate the acquisition of a new species?"i asked first, i asked first; mine mine mine mine!" zippin & boop: i think you should think before sending prints off nzers have a history of being mightily screwed over when it comes to national resources it might sound that my concerns stem from greed, but it is not the case; i am opposed to the commercialisation of sacred mushroom species: they are profaned when reduced to a commodity (a somewhat traditional view, i know) putting "my money where my mouth is" i have been actively engaged in outdoor spore propogation throughout aucklands bark gardens over the past year my vision is that in the future there will be so many outdoor patches that the world will be a veritable magic garden (and spore vendors out of business)
