Homestead EZGro Kit

has anyone heard of or used this EZGRO Mushroom Kit from Homestead book company? or heard of homestead? it seems pretty legit and its appealing but its 108 dollars so kind of sucks if nothing happens....anyone have results using this? it claims all you have to do is mix the spores and the grain, then mix that with the compost and set it somewhere and leave it alone and mushrooms will grow...any help will be GREAT thanks alot

They work but yes, they can fail. Then you're out $108.

For that much you could get a pressure cooker, and everything else you'd need for all the shrooms you could want for the rest of your life.

A pressure cooker for 108 bucks? That's a pretty damn nice pressure cooker... you can pick them up on ebay for just a few dollars.

I bought that kit. It's not too bad. But it focuses much more on the educational side of cloning and microbiological methods than on the quickest, easiest way to grow shrooms. I started using the kit, but once I got to the spawning phase, the mycelium seemed to stop growing. I have transferred what I could from the test tubes and put them inside grain/whole bran mixture jars, and one vermaculite/brown rice flour jar. Hopefully I can salvaged what I started with the mushroom kit.
