a windows phone is a zune player. technically so is your pc and xbox. Even though i never got one Windows phone would have been sick if they tweeked somethings. Thats why I wanted the window 8 phone soo bad cuz I felt like they would fix what needed to be fixed and also tie everything together. xbl on your phone and your phone on ur xbox or tablet on xbox sharing your zune music/videos. Thats what I mean the  synergistic potential is so huge it would make life alot easier/cooler.

After seeing that vid i'd like to get my hands on one dem. Looks pretty sweet but I guess it all depends on how good windows 8 is and how well it functions on tablet. who knows this could be the tablet that puts the nail in the coffin on the pc.

This is a game changer. It's a home-run. Only the most die-hard Apple fans will deny it.

Why would you want an over-sized smartphone operating system when you could have a fully functional operating system that's identical to a full size PC?

Why would you want an archaic 4x3 screen ratio with a bizarre resolution when you could have what every other device (HDTVs, smartphones, monitors) have gone to: widescreen at 1280x720 and 1920x1080?

Why would you want no industry standard ports when you could have USB 3.0 and microSD and plug in all your media and devices?

Why would you want mono audio when you could have stereo speakers?

Why would you limit yourself to a 64GB maximum internal space when you could have 128GB internal that can also be expanded through microSD cards?

Why would you want a proprietary, locked down tablet when you could have the freedom to do what you want, with whatever you want?

Why would you want a device that can only use klunky, aftermarket keyboard adapters when you can have a solid one that streamlines in as a protective cover?

Why would you not want to have backwards compatibility and the huge plethora of software and games this will run the moment it releases?

Why would you think the specs that aren't available yet won't compete with an iPad when there's already Android tablets with massively higher specs on the market right now?

Why would a business purchase iPads when they could buy tablets that would actually be productive and fully compatible with full size computers when most of them are using windows PCs already?

Why would you think this won't sell unless it's cheap/cheaper when Apple is currently selling $700-$830 tablets with none of these features?

Why would someone want this to be a failure when competition is good for all consumers?

(I really hope a die-hard Apple apologist tries to answer these)

A couple things that are curious from an IT perspective: two different operating systems and two different processors.  It would seem that they are only making things harder on themselves in terms of both distribution and development support.

WHat do you mean two different OS's?

They are planning on having different OS for the different models of their tablet.  Microsoft generally doesn't do their own hardware and this is only going to complicate things.

You mean like how there was Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Media Center Edition?
Or something else, all together?

One's going to be running windows RT the other's going to have a Windows 8 pro. The difference is that windows RT is made so it'll work with ARM. I'm not really sure what's better I heard the ARM could possibly be limited on what aps people could run.

The ARM processor and apps will be more similar to a smartphone's capabilities (limited) and the other one will be closer to a laptop's.  There is no question that I would get the latter if I was in the market for one.
