A friend of mine got banned because he had a modified console or tried playing a game he downloaded on LIVE. He also just buys a new one and I never understood this but I guess it is cheaper than buying the volume of games that you can download for free.
I am conflicted on this issue because on the one hand I am all for getting free games to play but on the other hand it would defeat the whole motivation for the continued production of games which is money.
I personally frequent the movie sites to see movies I am not willing to spend $11 on and most of the time if I liked it I will go to see it on the big screen and still spend my money but only on what is truly worth it.

I do think there is one easy thing that Microsoft can do to kill this problem once and for all. Stop charging people to play online. TO Mr. Bill Gates, you are one of the wealthiest men on the planet, but your greed seems to know no bounds. Afew years ago you got wind of a company making millions of dollars selling games so you decided taht you need to take your piece of the pie as well, but you fucked up the hole system by charging an annual fee to play these games in the context they were ment to be played.
I but sony products because they are always relyable and generally the best option around. Yes, they do cost more(ps3), but the reason for this is that insteaad of making a person pay twice to play a game, they chose to just charge more off the bat.
I really dont understand why anyone would want to support Bill Gates. The man is a billionair genieus with only one concern and that is making more money. When the hole console war started someone asked me why I had a grudge on the XBOX and I said that i didnt, and that in many ways it is a superior system, but I cant support anyone who will take every chance possible to nickle and dime you.
If Microsoft takes a loss on producing every xbox(which they do) and they make up for it by charging for LIVE, then why dosent SONY? Why, because sony gets the point, these things are made for entertainment, and npobody is entertained when they are getting fleeced.

Halo, fucking Halo? Really man are you still stuck on Halo? With the exception of ODST which I havent gotten to see yet Halo is one of the worst multiplayer games of all time. I pledge that any game that you have to put an entire clip into anyone just to have a shot at killing someone, yet they can turn around and hit you once be burned at the steak.
Hey man Im just fuxin around, I enjoy a good halo bout every blue moon, but it def wouldnyt be the reason I overlooked an entire console. Shame you will never get to experience the cinematic glory that is Metal Gear 4 and Uncharted, Drakes Misfortune because you are too busy swingin from Master Chiefs nuts like Tarzan.

I would rather be posted up on my couch and my bong playing my 360 on my big HDTV than hunched over a computer for long periods of time and being uncomfortable.

Yet ANOTHER thread devolved into an argument about consoles.
As for the banning I think it's brilliant. Biggest game of the year coming out. Price drop on 360s. Ban 600,000 users. I bet 10% of them went and got a new XBox and a new XBL account.

It was hard for me to break away from PC gaming too... You become really defensive after spending thousands of dollars on equipment that becomes obsolete so fast. Notice how they like to compete and always list their "specs" trying to be cool...
I never felt more at ease, then the first time I really experienced GTA on the PS2 on a big screen TV. Gaming would never be the same for me, and I'd never have to deal with the PC nightmares of simply trying to install and play a fucking GAME! And I was a PC professional!

I never have had any more problems with my PC games more difficult than I would think console users have, they do experience unexpected problems too. I am a PC professional though, so I know what I'm doing.
edit: And PC's really don't cost anymore than consoles do, that's just something people tend to say w/o knowing the facts.

The only games worth playing PC are MMORPG's. My friends back in the day would play "asheron's call" literally all day everyday.

software, movie, music copying always come back to the fact that there are people out there who back up games, movies, cds, and software so they do not have to use the original. If you pay 50 or 60 dollars for a game some people prefer to make a copy and play the copy of the game. People do the same with DVDs, Blueray, cds or whatever. I know that I have lost several games do to scratches. Losing games because you took it out and set it next to the XBOX on the floor someone slid across the floor on it, or your baby nephew liked the shiny surface and hence it becomes a teething toy. We all know that disks of any kind are not the most durable or objects. You have the right to back up whatever you purchase. Microsoft just took away that right. If you are pirateing you should be banned, but they can not prove that you are. Your modded XBOX could be for playing games that you purchased and backed up. Those people who chose this route just got fucked, for trying to protect there investments. As you said above games can cost thousands of dollars why should you have to buy them twice if ones get's messed up? You bought it so you would not have to buy it again. It's win win for them though. You modded to play games you bought and backed up? Oh well buy a new XBOX. You did not Mod you XBOX bought our game and scratched it? Now it won't play? Oh well buy a new one. LOL
That's what I feel anyway. You should have the right to back up what you purchase. There is no way to tell who is a pirate and who is not , so let's just fuck everyone who modded there XBOX to play games that could be just a copy of a purchased game

The bottom line is anyone who used modified material on Xbox Live violated the terms of use. Period. If you don't like it, then abide my the terms of use, if not expect to get banned.

LOL you ever use the real hacks for halo 2 online(not just manipulating connections and such) My little brother had them. You could jump across entire maps, hold two br's that shot fully auto sniper rifle rounds that auto aimed at peoples head 1 shot per person. You could jump across the map and by the time u landed on the other side you already killed there whole team. All the guns were pretty cool.
I never cared to cheat. he did it more for fun not to rank up cause were both good enough to get to 50 on our own. I would not touch the cheats myself though.
