Don't use birdseed your first time out. It can be hard to judge the moisture content to make sure its right. Do brf/verm and follow the recipe exactly.

For a first timer, it really is best to follow the PF-Tek to the word.

i wouldnt use finch seed at all. it doesnt make them any stronger, its another mith. if everyone told you something and you believed it. it would seem to happen. kind of like shrooms being stronger when grown on finch. Stick to teh mmgg

Whatever dudes, finch seed is awesome. If you follow Ryche Hawk's birdsdeed recipe, that is, steep the finchseed in mineral water for an hour first, the moisture content will be just right. Even if you overdo it, you'll get better results than if you mess up the water content of a plain brown rice/verm jar, which will take 4-FUCKING-EVER to colonize if you add too much water.

I've noticed a big difference in using finch seed compared to just plain rice. Not only in potency, but most importantly in larger healthier flushes.
A 2:1 mix of finch seed to vermiculite is very easy to use.. but once again, for a first timer stick to rice, then experiment later with grains.
