Lexapro (SSRI)

I was looking at side effects via google search, and it said to call your doctor immediately if you have stiff ( rigid ) muscles.

My question is...

Right now, my side effects are

: Weak muscles
: Joint pain
: Can't achieve orgasm

but to the muscle thing, do I call my Doctor? Or do I keep taking them until I see him in 2 weeks?

Is this common? Weak muscles or joint pain?

I know the impotence thing is normal, but the joint, and muscle thing has me a little :confused:

Any info?

I was on Lexapro for a while. What is your dosage?

Is the joint pain real or just pyschosomatic?

I suggest maybe going to a gym and messing around there for a bit and see what happens. If things go well then yeah but if your joints are hurting and you can't lift anything then go see a doctor.

Can't achieve orgasm is one of the more common General side effects.  I also would get light headed and only slightly weak when I stood up from sitting down.

It didn't help me one bit but I did continue to take it for like over a year.  Didn't take any anti depressants for like three plus years.  Started taking ViiBryd a few months back and it does actually work.

10mg.

I went bowling and my knees were just killing me, then I put the bowling balls in their bags, and when I lifted them my muscles and elbows were wicked sore.

I mean c'mon.. I bowl everyday. It's not "Just catching up to me"

I've been on them for like 2 weeks now, and this happens all a sudden.

I'm a fast typer too, and it even hurts my forearms to type fast now.

Those SSRI's are tricky. Lexapro worked for me but before that I was on prozac and that shit fucked me up hardcore. If Lexapro isn't working for you because of the negative side affects then you should talk to your doctor ASAP and get switched onto another SSRI if that is what you need. The longer you take Lexapro the harder it is to ween yourself off. I took 10mg for over a year and it took me about 3 months to ween myself off so as to avoid the withdrawal effects. Yeah I was on Prozac for a little while. That shit was nasty. Within like 2 days I just felt like shit. More suicidal feelings/thoughts. Couldn't cum right away. ( Not like right away, but after the 2 days of taking it )

I might ask for welbutrin next time I see my Doc. SSRI and it will help me quit smoking.

but right now, I just want to bathe in icy-hot.

I feel achy all over.

I've been on it, and other SSRIs, you get most of the symptoms I do, except I get bad suicidal idealization on them. I've tried to stick with it for months and it doesn't go away, expecially the inability to climax, which is what ultimatly makes me stop taking them.

Also, with welbutrin, don't take that stuff if you have any problems with anxiety, I tried it to quit smoking mainly, and to try another anti-depressant that I thought might do something.... It did help me stop smoking for 5 weeks, but then the anxiety got to me, the stuff kinda makes you feel coked out all the time. It made me want to drink all the time, it also helped to get me to give back into opiates, and abusing my benzos, I walked myself down from 2mg of clonipin by switching to valium, walked down to 2.5 mgs comfortably, got back on welbutrin and was back up to 40mgs of valium in a month from trying to keep from jumping out of my skin due to the welbutrin. I also felt confused the entire time, and it got worse when I stopped taking it for around 2 months. It's been 4 since I quit taking it and I feel like I'm still recovering.

Now I'm just doing psycotherapy and coming off my valium 1mg at a time, down to 19mg this week. I'm still depressed but it's because of the position my life is in, and all those pills the doctors have given me have only set me back. Nothing but actually talking and being honest about everything with a professional and working to make my life better has ever helped with my depression.

I was on 20mg a day for 3 months. It's not good for your body whatsoever. I can't even list all the side effects I had. I suggest switching to something else.
