FUCK ssri's!

im ready to quit taking my lexapro.
its seems like i just dont feel emotions normally any more, I cant sleep and i cant trip.
my step moms brother just died tonight, my step mom is in tears and i feel nothing, not good or bad just nothing.
has anyone else tried quitting ssri's cold turkey? i have before but it makes me dizzy and leads to annoying tingly feelings. how about slowly tapering down the dose?

sorry, just had to vent there but im defintally gonna taper off the meds, starting tomorrow im gonna cut the dosage in half for a week and see how i feel.

Yeah, I've heard they're pretty oppressive.
I was on Wellbutrin, which I've been told is an SNRI, for a few months, and that wasn't great either.

I didn't feel like it made me happier, or sadder, or even stopped me from feeling, it just took my huge range of emotions and condensed it down to this little box, so I couldn't experience despair OR joy.
Shitsux.

I recommend meditation on sunny days, that always gets me out of a depressed spell.

If you want to get off them I think its best you taper it off over time, similarly to how you started them.

I hear ya man...

I was on Lexapro for a short time years ago...

It pretty much did the same thing to me, i no longer felt depressed. But i also no longer felt truly happy, sad, or any emotions really for that matter...It left me feeling empty.

i was aking Lexapro for about 3 month's...and to be honest i liked how i felt. but then it startted to stop working. i was taking it for my Social Anxiety. but now i was put on symbyax...and now it doesnt work eather.
