We've been trying for decades.

All it's gotten is medical marijuana.

I'm sure bloody revolution will work, I can see the papers now :smirk:

"stoners use violence and end up getting arrested"

if you pay attention to long-term trends, than it's pretty silly to think weed won't be legal sometime in the relatively near future.

Look at the 70s. It was basically near legal. That went downhill.

Also, look at how our government is slowly taking away our freedoms. What makes you think weed will prevail?

Even though those are my beliefs I will NEVER stop pushing for legalized marijuana. I will do/do whatever I can to help.

Weed has been illegal for less than 60-70 years in most countries, it seems so set in stone, but so did slavery etc.

I'm not comparing the 2 in terms of significance BTW!

Just saying, things that seem absolute often crumble as quickly as they were established.

Eventually money will resolve the issue one way or the other, it always does. At some point it will cost too much to incarcerate every pot smoker, and/or companies like Virgin will push for legalisation because they know there is a FORTUNE to be made. Not to mention the boring old tax revenue routine.

I envision widespread de-criminalisation at some point, similar to Cali. Small amount grown for personal use etc, civil fine maybe rather than a crime.

OP I can't believe you are so pessimistic given the astounding rate of advancement of med MJ if nothing else in the last 20 years. Also the science for the doubters just isn't materialising, while the data for the benefits/harmless nature continue to mount.

When I was a kid I never would have dreamed that by now over 20 (??) states would have med MJ cards and dispensaries.

Come on. With all these weed TV shows, in 5 years 90% of Americans are going to support weed.

Granted, they still won't know whether or not smoking stems gets you high, but they will sure make every poll come to 90% in favor of cannabis.

Obviously, the next few presidents will promise to legalize weed, and eventually, if one of them wishes it, it will be so.

Didn't Obama promise to stop dea raids? They just say that bullshit to get your vote. They don't give s fuck about your opinions. Except for Ron Paul IMO.

There reasons it won't be legalized soon are many:

1) There is a large industry profiting off the war on drugs.
2) There is a large number of bible thumpers who believe it immoral.
3) There is a large number of parents with children who have bought into the 'it's for the children' horseshit.
4) Drugs are a scapegoat for government institutions--they can blame drugs for many social problems.
5) Politicians can buy votes by supporting the war on drugs.
6) There is a large number of people who just plain believe anything they are told from a figure of authority.
7) Marijuana is a symbol of a time (Vietnam Era) when the people stood up and finally told the government NO MORE OF YOUR BULLSHIT.

What is this drone and eyes in they sky bullshit all about?

A law was passed to allow cops to use drones for reasons that imo are not justified. Eyes in the sky are nothing new Helicopters can be 2 miles up and not be seen or heard but can still spot grow rooms (which is reasonable to suspect of a residential house making a lot of heat) due to their heat signature; even if counter measures are taken, the heat still has to go somewhere. If they want to bust you they will find a way too, but making it a pain in the ass will deter them as they are lazy pieces of shit power hungry fucks.

This is just my opinion.

But polititions over the next few years are gonna not be gaining support from supporting the war on drugs, but by opposing it. Again, with all this neutral/pro-weed stuff on the media and TV, everybody is going to be against the war on drugs in a few years.

I don't see how he's a puppet if the media ignores him. But this isn't a Ron Paul thread.

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say.

Just because someone smokes pot does not mean they are nice and mellow. And just because someone relentlessly advocates a certain religion does not mean they are evil.

it's practically legal in some parts of the world, and some of the states. I'd say by the time of my death it will be a pretty well tolerated substance. It's always gonna be looked down upon, but so is nicotine and alcohol.
I consume it like it's legal anyways, so i dont give a fuck.

True, although the subject of Ron Paul being/not being a puppet is not tied into the legalization of marijuana. His views are tied into the subject, but not the subject if he's a puppet or not.

Definately worth watching. We are on our way to having remote controlled drones that make no detectable noise patrolling the skies with flir mounted on these (and are much cheaper to operate than a helicopter). They will use them for anything and everything, they are very effective at tracking people at night. There is no way to hide from flir unles you are in an area with a LOT of cover vegetation, such as a swamp. If you are out of sight hiding under some thick brush your heat signature will still be easily identified by flir. Technology has gone a long ways in the past few years.

While flir alone may not be grounds for a warrant alone, if you have a sizeable grow, they can and will find ways to get a warrant.

I wouldn't feel safe with anything over 3kw in a 2k-3k square foot residential house with all counter measures and precautions being taken.

How about some heat to disperse a crowd??

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/worldview/us-military-unveils-heat-ray-weapon-youre-gonna-feel-it/article2367636/?utm_medium=Feeds%3A%20RSS%2FAtom&utm_source=Home&utm_content=2367636

It delivers sudden, unbearable heat, like the invisible wave when a hot oven door is opened but far more powerful – an intense, enveloping but non-lethal blast.

“You're not gonna see it, you're not gonna hear it, you're not gonna smell it: you're gonna feel it,” said Marine Colonel Tracy Taffola, at the public unveiling of the quaintly-dubbed Active Denial System at the U.S. Marines base near Quantico, south of Washington, D.C.
