Yeah Guzman was trying to say that but he had it the wrong way around. Because he incorrectly stated that Subs were the only one in the family with pigmented pluerocystidia. This is incorrect.
Id say they all originate from Cyanescens complex in Europe. The grass that Azurescens is reported to often fruit in was imported from Europe to North America and Southern Australia in the mid 1800s - this could possibly account for it, but its only a theory.

I have found a few... they were just coming up about a week ago but now drying out slightly. It's looking pretty overcast right now... I think with another rainfall they should be everywhere.

I personally have found much better luck around the suburbs of melbourne rather than going out to the foothills.... try the eastern suburbs... local reserves and stuff.

good luck!

yeah for sure.. when i first started hunting i drove for hours out to the ranges, finding nothing..for months... first find was in botanic gardens in city, though ive been told they now do rounds pulling them and death caps out??
ive had a few encounters with garden maintenance people... ive found it helps to have a bag of edibles when they ask what the fuck yer doing strompin thru their garden beds...  then theyll tell ya youve prolly got yellowstainers and could die... even when you got a shoebox fulla shaggy parasols!

They were everywhere this morning. One spot ive gone to for a while has had a fence erected around it with a no-tresspassing sign. Someone sussed it out. It looks like an alright season this year. Happy hunting everyone.
As for the Botanical gardens, ill pm you.
