wow beautiful photos! nice find, they are some awesome looking shrooms!

waiting for some rains (forecast for the following few days) to have some sub's fruit here (sydney) as well! fingers crossed!

about 15 in small patch... very first of the season I'd say.

ive got a better quality digicam, but I always run the batteries out before i get real lucky. so yeh better macro pics comin soon.

...and yes wasn't it supposed to be raining up here today?!! Is it cold enough for subs yet in Sydney?? Some were found last August for the first time, but that was the depths of winter :grin:

well, from a search i did of this forum, aussishroomhead found many p. sub's starting from early april in the suburbs of sydney... hopefully the semi-cold weather that we've been experiencing over the last few weeks plus some good rainfall will encourage them to grow!

the other option is to go on a trip to the blue mountains, although i went a few days ago and nothing was growing yet except amanita muscaria's and inactives.

here's a pic of aussie's patch...in August last year

OK they were fairly old when found hehe

a little better...

...but it's encouraging that he first found some in April :wink:

I think these are the best pictures I have sen yet. WOW, you can even see the water doplets clearly in the third pic. Very impressive.

Been looking everywhere Fez with no luck! Well done as its so damn dry down here!
Ive IDed Aussishroomheads mushrooms and most were normal Ps.Subaeruginosa, but some had unique characteristics and seemed to be Ps.Eucalypta.
We have a website at Shaman Australis coming shortly with pictures of each of the australian species, gills, and mycelia on agar for those that wish to submit?

some big 6-7 cm caps

two different shapes i came across and their sections below

aw man, ill fix em up later and get rid of that fucken stamp. :mad:

the ones on left had closer gills, umbo and caps opened out more, the right ones seemed to have more distant gills, no real umbo and margins remained incurved. :confused:
