Getting network password

The uppers at my work do not want their employees to have access to the network password at the group home I work at. Its ridiculous because they sometimes ask us to find information on the internet without having access to it, and the only way I can do it at that point is to look shit up on my phone, which barely gets any reception there.

Sometimes they have a staff laptop there which has access to the network, and I am trying to figure out a way to gain access to the network password via that laptop. I can see the network password as an 8 character code. Is there any program or method that can be used to view the network password?

The house has a standard cable modem and router configuration, nothing too complex.

Why don't you just ask someone cool what the pw is or watch someone type it in? I'm sure its group home related my hospitals pw is literally the first word in the name.

saved network password, no one has to type it in. none of our management are the type of people who would give that kind of information up, even if they knew it, which I highly doubt.
