absolutely not as far as we know. and i don't think there would even be reason to assume that. i've heard THC and heavy doses of anti-oxidants do the trick

Well it has been proven to be neurotoxic in labs animals in high doses, not sure about humans though

That's what I assumed, it's been proven neurotoxic in lab animals at high doses. So has THC.

Not wanting to get all sciency but science doesn't prove things, it give fact based evidence in support of theories... In a study you have a hypothesis and you either reject or accept it based on the research done... But it's just one study and the next study could show different results... So... Math has proof, some of physics have proof... Medicine and biology, not so much.... Doesn't mean the media and marketing doesn't say 'proven' ....  Just if you hear a scientist say it, should raise a red flag for junk science.

But... Getting back to the OP
Sounds like a druggy urban ledgend to me... Trip responsibly

eh i don't follow everything i hear on erowid. they still have Ricaurte and William Whites research posted up there which have both been retracted. i'm going to say after reading different reports though, i've come to the conclusion that MDMA is slightly neurotoxic, but to no noticeable degree if taken with reasonable moderation.

it is fact that many people who've abused it have suffered cognitive problems. now that doesn't necessarily mean "neurotoxicity" but it's obviously a major side-effect that needs to be taken seriously. on the other hand, very few people who roll on occasion have such problems.

the only difference is that MDMA was directly responsible for the neurotoxicity. in THC studies, it was lack of oxygen that was responsible because they kept the monkeys in a contained place that had no air circulation. eventually the monkeys were breathing nothing but smoke. if MDMA is neurotoxic in high doses, i think it's pretty safe to assume that there's some level of neurotoxicity, probably negligible, at lower doses. but everythings a guess. until they start slicing peoples brains open we'll never know for sure.

I think the rumor is true.
MDMA = serotonin releaser
after the roll..relatively low serotonin = not "good" for brain"

5-HT = serotonin

LSD = mainly 5-HT2A agonist, i'm sure it does things to other receptors too. Agonists will mimic the natural substrate binding to the receptor.
"The receptor is filled with a substance, tells the brain 'all is shipshape', while the serotonin gets more time to accumulate in the presynaptic vesicles before it is released into the synapse = closer to normal level, without having the receptor empty..sending 'empty' signals to brain

BUT
if you could, you should look into selegiline for preventing post-roll neurotox, if it exists

oxidation is what causes most of the neurotoxicity. green tea helps a lot

I can actually report an experience on this.

In one night I took roughly around 300mgs of MDMA, and then to extend the party I took some LSD as I was coming down. I know what you're thinking, why didn't you do both?? But I wanted a really long and fun experience so that's what I did.

Truth be told I felt much less impact from the MDMA the next day. I felt a little off of course but I believe the LSD did indeed help to reorganize the circuitry in my brain, or something of that nature, to make the hangover partially gone. It didn't eliminate it but I definitely felt an even amount of after effects from the LSD and the MDMA, not a typical MDMA hangover for me.

It was nice because I have taken MDMA quite a bit now and the hang overs have gotten progressively worse, but that time was pretty good.

Maybe there is truth to it, but it could be the LSD just masking it.
