I would be interested in knowing if there is anything outside of this apparently all encompassing web of unifying connectivity, any candidates ?

I wonder the same thing about inside. Is there anything inside this apparently all encompassing web of connection? The search always comes up empty.

Maybe that's why it can be said, "As within so without."

I've been thinking a lot about duality lately, and it means different things to different people. To some it's about mind/body, to some, good/evil, others the existing/non-existing, and to some it is about union/separation, I could go on; masculine/feminine, finite/infinite. I have about fifty pages of A4 with all my musings and notes on, mostly it looks like gibberish, but it's more like the working out from a maths problem. Still it's all just speculative and hypothetical.

What about that post made you think of duality?
also, I laughed a bit at knowing about A4 paper. I get my education from my workplace

This inside-outside business, and that if it's all connected and unified in someway then why all the polarization ?, and if I'm honest I'm seeing duality everywhere I look at the moment. I'm not so much looking to paint the world black and white, I'm just looking for a unifying axis.

I'm currently unemployableed,
what do you do, if you don't mind me asking ?

we don't even sell a4
letter/legal/ledger

but all of our copiers have the marks for A4 size and every now and again a customer brings in some A4 paper for a print job.

So there is such a place:laugh:

I'll have a gander, thanks. The Taoist perspective is one I've been using as a sort of template, and overlaying my own ideas onto that. It's not easy for me to stick to one school of thought, Hence a favorite little book I have is The Essential Mystics by Andrew Harvey. It has chapters dedicated to Tao, Hindu, Buddhism, Judaism, Greek Pagan, Islam, Christianity and a chapter with various excerpts from tribal cultures, entitled "voices of the first world".

I have a tonne of stuff I want to read, for instance I finally got a copy of
'that book' by Becker. I'd only read the preface and felt an obligation to go read Rank before continuing further.

If you are me then I now know why I am disgusted with myself much of the time.

Hehe, in reality, you are never disgusted with yourself, only your idea of yourself, which is in the mind. Before this idea of yourself sprouted in the mind, you gave a clear reflection of your true nature, as a child. When you look towards the mind to reveal yourself, you will always be fooled, until you turn the mind inward toward the witness of mind, which is your true essence, your innermost self. The mind is a mirror, outward reflects change, inward reflects peace. Look within, and see if its true, see if the mind becomes still and all the frustration of an ever changing idea of yourself is silenced.

Helpers gotta help, haters gotta hate, lovers gotta love, knowers gotta know. After someone told me I am not the content of my mind and I looked to see, I stopped feeling compelled to take ideas for what I am, I stopped endlessly seeking information and mental content. Alas, I am at peace.

Hardly.  You would not be posting here if you were at peace Preacher. IMO you're just trying to convince yourself by convincing others.

It just so happens that I made a deadly mistake on Dmt and am waiting for my energy to return. I figured since that mistake I have hurt the world much through powerless vibrations, and while waiting for my power to return, I may as well give something back, which is the tid bit of knowledge aquired from my experience. I need not convince myself again that all convictions are false and this world is merely a dream, so I am just here to say row row row your boat gently down the stream. Peace

Lovers see love everywhere, haters see hate, friendlies see others as friends, liars see only lies. If you look through a lens of green, everything you see will be green. Everyone sees others through their own idea of themself. But if we look closer, we see even these closest ideas are false, just a daydream. Peace, don't feel compelled to respond if you don't want to hear me 'lie' to you anymore.

Nice picture jwist, I don't think I've got reality sorted out at all. In fact I now doubt everything, and I know nothing. But there is a secret in this knowledge of no-thing that helps to put everything in order.

Also perhaps your seeing everything in the picture that doesn't matter. He is telling the secret to reality with his hand, not his clothes.

Sadly, in human life, many times pain is the prerequisite to peace. Through suffering one learns to not rely on others and the body for peace and satisfaction, and the mind naturally turns within. It seems as if you are stuck on seeing the glass half empty. Seeing it half full brings much more happiness and peace in my experience. Peace
