Supplemental testosterone questions
    #15462149 -

How would you know if it was right for you, and is it worth looking into? What are the positive affects and some drawbacks?

what supplemental testosterone supplements/formulas are you using? i used to strength years ago and it was really difficult for me to honestly say they were effective, i didn't realize any change and i was unaware of problems... that's not to say there weren't any... bodybuilders i knew were into boosters, they swore it worked, it's what prompted me to give it a shot...

Honestly, its not for bodybuilding, its more for supplemental purposes... i haven't gone in for a test yet so i don't know for sure, but i don't have any motivation, depressed, and have low energy. I haven't started any, yet.

Have T and thyroid levels checked for sure. Are you overweight at all? My buddy started TRT (not under the supervision of a doc) and he's loving it. I'd recommend going in. If the doc says levels are within normal limits but toward the lower end, ask for androgel, if he says you're normal, look into possible depression or seasonal affective disorder (see: we shouldn't be working and expending energy in the winter because it's not normal for our bodies).

--------------------
I challenge you to challenge yourself more! When you feel complacent and ready to hang it up, challenge yourself to get over it! If you fail, don't look at it as you didn't succeed, look at it as you would a rock face you're trying to climb. Stand back, wayyyy back, and look at it and plot another path. If you can't find one, shuffle down the way a little, a little change of scenery or a view from a different angle may give you the insight you need.

Anything I state is relayed information from a friend of a friend and should be viewed as completely fictitious. I do not partake in any illegal or grey-area-of-the-law activities, but do have lots of friends who may or may not.    -fngbronco

from all i have read men usually don't start to develop hormone problems till around the age of 35 but it can occur at a younger age, though kind of rare... there's so many other things that can cause your symptoms and they're all directly related to diet... do you tend to eat alot of processed foods? sugar? alcohol? do you eat alot of dairy? wheat/gluten? do you eat peanuts or peanut butter in particular? do you find yourself eating the same food or desiring to eat the same food or particular foods? if this happens it's a good sign your body/brain are addicted to it which will cause your symptoms... the addiction is similar to alcoholism in many ways... the compulsion to drink even if you don't want to... if you have a desire for any, out of the ordinary, it's no good for you and you really should avoid it...

do you exercise each day? aerobic exercise is very important for everyone and lack of it alone can exacerbate your problems while doing it will improve your problems...

share...

Squatting also raises testosterone levels naturally.

I do believe i am afflicted by Seasonal Affective Disorder... I've started a regiment of vitamin D3 and it seems to be doing something. I'm sure some blood work would be good, I haven't had any done in a long time, i just hate needles :frown:

if you're deficient in vitamin d it takes a while for levels to develop again... i know, i was found to be severely deficient and i was prescribed 50,000IU's every other day and 10,000IU's in between... that was over a month ago and i won't be retested for another two months... i'm not saying you're not deficient, you might be because it turns out to be a serious, common problem but i'm shocked that you see results so quickly... just sayin'... and yeah, a complete blood work up would be a stellar idea... make sure he checks complete thyroid function and vitamin d... i don't particularly care for needles either... just look the other way and breath deeply, keeping your mind off it...

How old are you? After 25 your testosterone levels start to drop. I'd say work on diet and exercise first, we can't go seeking a medication for everything that ails us when the solution could be a 30 minute walk 3 days a week.

Could be placebo then, but i know i have s.a.d. because i cycle with the seasons, happiest in spring and summer, and at my lowest again in fall and winter. I do my pushups and curls, though cardio isn't too hot cause well.. its cold out there. i know i live in florida, but we have thin blood down here.

to be honest, i'm not really sure but it could certainly be a possibility... there have a pretty good drug library here... you should check it out and do a search... if it happens, i'm sure the information is here somewhere...
