Quick question

A loved one of mine has a chronic illness (lupus), some of may be familiar with this disease. Anyway, my question is this, the person in question has extreme troubles with bowel movements....extreme to the point that it is surprising that their intestines haven't ruptured. Many things have been tried, various foods and medications that are supposed to cause loose stools/diarrhea.....none of these have worked at all. Unless they can go soon, they'll most likely need to be pumped out, which is highly undesirable. So, my question is; are there any herbs or legal drugs that can help this situation? (considering that all of the better known options, from prunes & apricots to medications have been tried, and all failed) Obviously, there are many other medications being taken, and any suggestions will be get a doctors approval before being used, I appreciate any advice you may offer, peace.  :heart: :peace:

Dark_Star,

I highly, highly, highly encourage you to pickup Michael Tierra's "The Way of Herbs." Its about $15 and there's a chapter dealing with a medicinal diet of foods in general for the very ill. Your loved one almost definitely qualifies as someone who should jump at this while there is still time to reverse this condition completely.

Have you thought about switching the bactieria in the intestines? There is a way to drastically improve you digestive tract by changing the dominant bacteria. It will cause naseua and the Rhea for a week or so. I have yet to do it, but it pretty much consists of eating shit loads of yogurt and taking some pill which is natural and not manufactured i think. Has something to do with Acedopholous (sp?). I dont, know, its worth checking out though...

No, apparently it's very hard to get the barium out...also, they can't eat yogurt, i'm not too sure why....the person in question is a loved one, not me...so I don't have all of the available info on medications and whatnot, just that there are lot being taken, many experimental stuff as well. Thank you both very much for your suggestions.  :heart: :sun: :thumbup:
