mixing colonized substrates?

Can you mix them in casing or will that do more harm than good? Is it best to keep different strains in different containers when fruiting or what?

Don't mix 2+ different strains. If they are too different genetically they will compete with each other genetically, hence will not mate.

If it's the same strain it should be ok, but I usually put them side by side, just to be safe.
