fastest colonizing substrate?

what is the fastest colonizing substrate? what about the most nutrient rich as far as providing food for the mushies?

Too many factors determine fastest colonizing substrate. Nutrients will last longerr than you can keep a substrate contam free, in any mix.

birdseed in 1/2 pint jars colonizes very fast from my experience, but quarts can be more effective if you keep em contam free. I like using micron magik filter disks for all my jars now, seems to speed up colonization considerably. Also keep in mind that keeping the jars around 82-85 will speed growth on any medium.
