Composting

My pet prairie dog had some cow dung left over,and wanted to dry it out a bit.He put about half of it in a cardboard box,and mixed it with some vermiculite. The other half he put in a plastic trash can,and decided to start some compost. He added some raw peanuts,and some WBS that was sitting around in water too long to be PCd.
Then when the shrooms started to wear off,he realized he might have made a mistake.If he's not mistaken,the grains in the WBS wont do well if pasteurized,and the dung wont do well if it's sterilized. He was thinking it might work OK for an outdoor bed,but wanted to see if anyone else had any opinions before he used up another bunch of popcorn.
What would you do with a trashcan full of shit and grain?

Thanks for the advice.The peanuts are germinating in the trash can.Might be an interesting compost pile!

Try a little straw in there too if you have any, I would condsider a ph buffer for sure.
