My dream of becoming a Shepherd

Anyway my families dream was for me to become a successful lawyer after my studies but knowing how important it is to them I will proceed with their dream for me. However, I’m going to benefit from this as well, whenever I gather enough money I wish to fly away, far away from civilization (if I can) and live alone, forever.
All my life I’ve been disturbed night and day, in my dreams and in reality, I hope one day all this nonsense will stop and I can live life alone, peace and quiet forever.
I hope to leave Europe and travel far and wide to the east, unsupervised and unchallenged.
Nobody will disturb me! My words of whisper and my knowledge of life will fulfill my curiosity and mystery… I’ll cut all contact with the humans, change my name, just me alone in the desert!
I wish to discover the vast deserts of Africa or Arabia, herd a few sheep and goats as a shepherd and build my own hovel were I would grow my cannabis and opium to keep me company, as I will be occupied most of the time. I will write about my adventures traveling the hot deserts and the experience I gain along the way.
Tell the stories of the desert life with the waters underground and thirty mammals above lingering here and there in search for blue mystery.

Afraid not brother! I don’t want to be questioned nor do I want to be found.
I will be clothed in white cloth like an angel and if I may I die on a sunny day I wish for my desert friend to bury me with her sandy crumbs, let my flock of sheep pound the earth until god can no longer see me and let my grave be unmarked, and let my blood cry out one last time ‘that I am the Shepherd King’… My sheep will flock over my grave mound seven times so that no man or beast will recognize the ground from which I was buried, and my body shall be at peace like a Pharaoh, undisturbed for a thousand years.
If all goes well I shall never again be disturbed, eternal peace forever!

Hopefully I will leave behind something to share with my family and friends if anyone or anything finds me

There once was a holy man up in the caves the town said. He was up there for years, constantly seeking inner peace. While he wasnt enlightened, he was considered wise beyond measure, and many admired him.

One day a monk from the village temple sought out the man. He climbed high into the hills to discover a skinny fellow sitting in quiet meditation. The wise man turned and said the the monk "Why do you disturb me"?

The monk asked why he was sitting in the caves, and if he had found inner peace. The wise man said he was quite content, and couldn't be happier.

The right before the monk left he asked...."Why is it you stay up here instead of coming down"?

The wise man screamed, "HOW DARE YOU COME HERE AND QUESTION ME! HOW DARE YOU DISTURBED ALL THAT I HAVE ATTAINED"

The monk said, "Where is your peace now? come down from this mountain and live amongst our people"


......as they both walked back to the town the wise man became enlightened :jamming:


Allot of us have this fantasy to live as a quiet hermit, living off the grid, while enjoying ourselves. But I promise if you actually made it out to Africa, or where ever you would be consumed with depression. Biologically Humans are social creatures.

Best told after several scotches and with a scottish accent.

So Angus and McTavish are sitting around in the pub. Angus takes a long pull at his drink, looks out the door and says "Angus, you see that bridge out there."

"Aye Angus, I do"

"S'a goood Bridge. Built it with me bare hands I did. But do they call me angus the bridge builder?"

"No angus they don't" he says sympathetically.

"And ya see that roof on the school. S' a good rooooof, took me a month, with me bare hands." He takes a pull again. "But do they call em Angus the Roof Maker?"

"No angus they don't"

Angus takes another deeeeep pull at his beer, his face going red.

Yeah i know we humans are very social,However, i would love to feel what it would be like to be undisturbed by Modern society and all the cruel problems of life... No War, no murder, no crying, no crime and no politics muttering nonsense everyday on TV!

Life would be a better place without politics, we be better of as Stone age men

yeah but i don't think your family's dream is simply for you to get a degree. they want you to get a degree and then use that degree to have a career/life that they deem acceptable, right? i don't think running off into the wild with a degree will be any better than running off into the wild right now. so, the point is, run off to africa right now :yesnod:
