I've had professors that do that.  Hell I've had professors that will fuck up writing the question, have 95%  of the class get it wrong because of the awful phrasing/spelling and then blame it on us.

Sounds like this guy's professor was actually pretty cool compared to some of the bitches I had.  I had a teacher fail me because the entire campus's computer network was down and I didn't have the internet or a printer at home :eek:

mickdawg is a good example of why this is true. He's too focused on competency and integrety. Unless he changes his ways he is doomed to work under some C student fray boy that kisses the bosses ass.

He will do all the work while the kissass gets all the credit and makes all the money.

I think it depends on the professor. Some professors misspell questions like that just to be dicks. If your professor ISN'T like that, then I'm not sure why you chose to put false. It's a pretty obvious typo.

It should be noted that, personally, I would have put false just because I like exploiting the errors in a quiz. I wouldn't do it unless I REALLY didn't need the points though.

I've also had professors put misspellings to make sure they're paying close attention. I had a teacher that probably would have marked it wrong if he had put true.

I think your argument was legit. I also think she sounded a little bitchy when she said "self-proclaimed "Straight A" aspirant." She's getting paid to make quizzes and teach. It's not hard to spell check it and notice it was spelled wrong so I don't see anything wrong with taking the spelling into consideration.

Also, in the whole scheme of things, your answer IS correct and there is no way of any one proving otherwise. At the very worst(?) the question would be thrown out. Thinking about this a second time, I think you made the right decision.

i think you're legit, i hate teachers who get cocky in email. i had one do it then i confronted them in person and they folded like origami. i also had one i wouldnt have minded hitting with my car, we would get into arguments daily. most teachers (especially architects) think they are infallible and it pisses me off.
