It's not often you get to see a falcon swoop down to almost 10-11 feet and catch a smaller bird with their talons and fly off right in front of you.

Falcons are most definitely the douche bags of the bird world.

The bird probably located the photographer as a threat and left.

pretty awesome, about like the hawk napping a rabbit about 20 feet in front
of me, we had a cooper's hawk or possibly a falcon buzzing cars for a couple
of years, he got really close to the glass. a few weeks ago I saw him on the
side of the road, probably misjudged the car's speed... he was good, scared
the shit out of a lot of people

Once upon a time out in Wyoming I saw a Bald Eagle dive and snatch a sizable trout out of the Snake River a few hundred feet from me. :ooo:

My aunt watched as a red tail hawk swooped down and snatched up her pomeranian

the dog was lucky, he managed to get free but he had the battle wounds

While canoeing a few years ago we saw a medium-sized alligator snatch a flying egret out of the air from his position under the water.  One second there was a low-flying bird, the next second there were alligator jaws and blood, the next second there was still water.

We turned the canoe around.

We counted into the 80's by the time we docked the canoe . . .

merrit island in florida is like that, huge gators everywhere, all the swampy
puddles were dried up so they were in the canals, I was about 3 feet from one
that was creeping in on me... they were packed like sardines on the banks
sunning themselves and dozens more in the water, no clue how many though

saw manatees as well, stopped under a bridge and noticed them in the water,
they're curious, they'll come when you splash in the water a little
