I thought this thread was hilarious. People are always going on about being apart of something retarded, but they justify it by only saying they like the good parts of the group even tho the whole thing is rotten lol.

Fuck people on the Shroomery can be dense sometimes. How can you read the OP and actually think he is going to join the Klan?

Like others have said, I guess it comes across as believable because people do it everyday. I have neighbors who are catholic and send their kids to catholic school, and say a lot of the same shit. They renounce half of catholic beliefs, but still call themselves Catholic.

Not to be obtuse, but OP's message is somewhat obscure.

Like I said before, this analogy works better for police than it does for religion. KKK specifically operates as a vigilante organization. Religion is not a vigilante organization unless it's dangerously out of hand. Vigilantism is not in its mission statement, at least not in modern society.

This sets religion apart from both KKK and police. Both are organizations in which membership is synonymous with first-handedly fucking people over.

OP, post this in PS&P instead. :smirk:
