It's a beautiful shot.  And it is a fucking travesty that the American space program is being dismantled so they can spend the money on 'Shared Sacrifice' with the rest of the world.  I cried. 

The space shuttle is one of the most successful programs the government had.  For instance, a space shuttle mission discovered why the shrimp had disappeared from where they had traditionally been found, and pretty much saved the gulf coast shrimp industry from destruction.  They also did many spot images of the earth and mapped out accurate details, they helped understand the weather patterns, etc.

Yea it's sad...but I think the private space industry is going to BOOM.

Going Orbital around the time I will be finishing grad work in Engineering Physics.  A win for me because SpaceportAmerica is being built as we speak just a stone's throw away from NMSU in cruces...Im sure they are going to hit the university for engineers and scientists really hard...

We don't have money for a space program but we do for war and prisons. Well, the bright side is that the privatization of space based programs is a possibility.

Yes.  Actually privatizing the Space Program will allow SpaceportAmerica and other commercial companies to do things much cheaper than NASA did.

studying Venus led us to discover that Chloroflourocarbons (CFC's) destroy the ozone layer and allowed us to react in a decent amount of time.

We need space programs.

It's not like it over dude...just THIS shuttle program.They'll have the next new thing coming some point.

They'll be some private shit popping up,like the Vigrin Mobile dude...new satellites/space telescopes will still be put into orbit.
