Short Story: Stupid People Asking Stupid Questions.

Full Story:

Professor draws on blackboard, explaining how war is fought. He draws a rock, and goes off on this analogy of a defensive soldier behind a rock. Since he can peek out of all sides of the rock, it takes three offensive soldiers to cover one defensive soldier, and that is how, strategically, many of the older wars were fought, you aimed for a 3-1 to advantage offense over defense, but it wasn't really an advantage, it was equal. Whatever. A girl raises her hand.

"But, like . . . isn't there any place on earth where there AREN'T any rocks?"

I need a shotgun.

The real problem is that college enrollment has skyrocketed. It used to be that only the smart kids went to college. Now everybody goes to college. That means that there are tons of dumb people all over campuses in America.

Get used to it. I had to.

I think it's sad that this society is moving more towards secondary education at University's. Unfortunately, colleges have to accept nearly everyone who can pay tuition because of the budget crisis. At least here.

I think it's sad that this society is moving more towards secondary education at University's.

I was one of those kids that went into college absolutely clueless. I had not learned a thing in high school (I slept and goofed off the whole time). I couldn't even do a simple algebra problem. I'll admit that I probably should not have been admitted to any college.

I am not an idiot however. I worked hard, got caught up, enrolled in an engineering major, and did very well. But, admittedly most of the kids who came into college as unprepared as I was did not do well and quickly dropped out.


Unfortunately, colleges have to accept nearly everyone who can pay tuition because of the budget crisis. At least here.

It was the same with my school. As long as you had a high school diploma, you got above D's, and you had a decent ACT or SAT you were in. My college wasn't a bad school(in fact it is known for its engineering program), but they let the smart and the dumb kids in. They figured that the dumb kids wouldn't be able to cut it and they would drop out after a year or so. And even if some of the dumb kids still made it through college, the school would still get the kid's money. It was a win-win situation for the school. Either way they made money.
