i dropped out to get my GED because i fucked up freshman and softomore year and catching up would have taken another 2 years probably. Still haven't gotten my GED, and the more I think about it the more I want to go back and get my Diploma. Is it really going to hold me back that much in life if I have a GED instead of a diploma?

GED and diploma are the same thing.  It's just who gives it to you.  State or school.

I know they are equivalent put people don't look at them as being that way. The people I know anyway, I don't know about employers and that's all that matters.
