Perspectives on Reality, or Spiritual Douchebags
    #14603311 -

Aight, this may seem a bit rambling, but bear with me, I have a point some where.

On many boards I see people talking about enlightenment, there is always some fucker that shows up talking about how enlightenment is bullshit. Usually they throw some smartass remarks about how nearly all gurus, buddhas, preachers, prophets, etc, did all for reasons other than actual enlightenment (i.e., to get pussy, money, power, they were batshit crazy, etc.)

Well, my thing is, you have to take somestance on reality. Even if you say we can never know reality, or that it doesn't matter what reality is, that's a fucking stance.

And another thing, people who say it's impossible for drug use to be spiritual, how the fuck do you know? Simply because you've never had a spirirual experience because of drugs? Well, if that's the case, forgive me because I forgot random cynical assholes are the final judge on all reality. I'll be sure to write that down.

Why do you have a to take a stance on reality again?  Most people probably don't think about it. What does this have to do with your dislike of the 'douchebas'?  I don't see the connection.

Who exactly says that?  That sounds suspiciously like a straw man argument you've used because your angry and don't like their position.  What I've generlaly heard, rather, is the there's no particular difference in spiritual vs recreational use and that spiritual experiences are more an emotional state and conclusion rather than inherently useful.

I don't recall hearing anyone ever say that you can't have a spiritual experience or use drugs in such way.

Can't one just embrace the mystery and entertain ideas? My beliefs change with the wind and new experiences arise. IMO, It's silly to take any hard stance on anything.

I like this, and whole heartily agree!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us all. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
