I got too many ideas and I need to start on this shit.Any suggestions on how to go about editing and making a movie that doesn't look amatuer as fuck.I've been reading up about lighting,I need to know more about the editing process and any tools that'll help. I was thinking of getting some kind of computer program for digital video editing but any type of editing info is welcome it's doesn't have to be on computer,I'm just looking for the most cost effective wasy of getting good quality footage.I was thinking about getting this camera: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000087BV9/ref=pd_sbs_p_1/104-2885606-8799912?v=glance&s=photo

I have a bunch of friends that are really into film. One of them has a digital video camera like that. It's a really nice looking camera and so is the one you're thinking about getting. I can't really help you with making your films look less amateur, though. I hope you are able to get some of your ideals out. Also, an Amateur Film Festival came to my town just this week and some of the shorts and animations I saw were incredible. I hope you enjoy your hobby!

i don't know how well it imports video from devices, but you can grab quicktime pro. it does basic editing. it sells for $30 or you can find a registration code easy, i did....

ps the industry standard is avid, but it will probably cost you even more than final cut pro would

I'm really into this kinda stuff, I'm going to the Art Institute for Video Production if everything works my way.

I'm actually using that very camera, I used it to make my submission for a scholarship contest.

I used Adobe Premire6.0 to edit, and man the edits are smooth as hell, non-linear is the only way to go, but lemme give you a bit o advice, bootleg Premire (if you're ok with the ethics of it)

ITS NOT WORTH 600 BUCKS!!!!!!

that's almost as much as the goddamn camera, anyways, buy you a firewire card, I got one for like 30 bucks, and the camera, and bootleg the software.

This is about as professional as it gets for amatuers, it won't look like a real movie cuz they all use actual film, but this still looks pretty good

lemme know how this all works out for ya, hope I helpped, even though I may have not made much sense (i'm tired)

I found out I can get Final Cut Pro for like $350 so I'm just gonna get that shit. I don't know why it's $1000 most places on the internet
