id still rather vote and put all my effort into spreading Ron Pauls name because AT LEAST he is bringing up the right questions. If he wasnt on stage everything about the drug war, the economy and the middle east would be the SAME OL RHETORIC.

With Ron Paul up there he is forcing Drug War and Foreign policy into public debate, we now can at least question if our civil liberties are being violated and if people say they aren't, they at least have to give some sort of answer as to why

:werd: even though I don't agree with all of his positions the ones I mostly do are the ones that are getting the most resonance throughout the nation - all publicity he (and his ideas) gets is good for my ideals so I'll be happy to vote for him if it comes down to obama v paul even if I don't think he'll win.

like, thats what our whole system is supposed to be about. Checks and Balances, how can people dislike Paul? At least he forces you to show that our foreign & domestic policies are worthwhile..

Regardless it you like him or not and assuming that he will run under a Libertarian banner then it is possible that he will suck votes away from whoever runs against Obama therefore enshuring another term in office.  Remember Ros Perot? 

So yea it is a party fail but a party I'd attend...

He didn't run under the Libertarian ticket in 2008.  That was Bob Barr, who was a fake Libertarian.  What Ron Paul did was run for the Republican ticket and he didn't get it.

well if Paul doesnt win I wouldn't vote for any of the other Dbag GOP's anyways, I'll keep my Social Programs over expansionary foreign policy (albeit both parties support war i'd say dem's a little less, at least in voter base).

Pretty sure you remembered wrong. Candidates are nominated by delegates. It doesn't go up for popular vote with the Republican party, only with the Democratic party.

I think your main problem is the medieval election system you still have in place. Like Al Gore got more votes but Bush was elected...
You need to change that system if you ever want to have fair elections.

Its hard to say.. I think things would be a whole lot different, worse in some ways better in others. I don't really prefer one over the other but if I had to choose - I'd take Gore because his policies don't seem to involve killing people.
