It is very interesting that newcomers to Vegas in the summer go into a warm hotel pool, come out of the water and wonder why they start shivering when it is 110F.

The evaporation is so rapid that the body surface temp drops quickly. Of course, the core temp remains unaffected and one is uncomfortably warm again in a few minutes.

It sucks you dry baby.  If there's moisture in the air it's harder to saturate it and the sweat stays longer on your skin.

Yeah but you ever notice how dogs (and cats) love to lick you after a hot day in dry weather. They like the salt. At least Kiwi does.
