fuzzhead, I will pm you, because I just moved to a tiny town at the bottom of the central valley, and it has NOT been the cali experience I was hoping for. there's lots of sweet restaurants, and people are friendly, but the organic veggies and herbs do not I repeat do not flow like they did when I visited NorCal friends last year.
FOR SURE trying to turn this stint in california into my heady, inspired, cali-dream and meet some girls.
fucking central valley, damn.

So would you guys consider Sacramento to be part of the valley? I don't wanna be in that valley you guys keep talking about. definitely doesn't sound like the california I'm searching for.

Yes, Sacramento is technically in the central valley. Anything in the middle part of California from Bakersfield on up is the central valley.

angeles nat'l forest seems pretty central to alot of peeps in SoCal...
any good camping/exploring there?

Then post a gathering thread. 



The central valley stretches from Bakersfield all the way to Redding and Sacramento is about the middle point in between.  There are a few spots that are cool but for the most part it is too dam hot.  the state as a whole is kinda like the rest of the country.  Liberal to the west and bible belt in the middle valley...

closed :sadface: after the huge station fire and the massive rains that follow, parts of the road were wiped out. Because of tis (????) the whole park is closed right now, cant even go on a hike into it.. they have gaurds watching We can however go east towards some other shroomerites i know and the forest is beautiful and open there

holy hell you aren't kidding. I am amazed by how many independent fundamental churches there are here. low end of the radio dial is ALL christian radio. it's insane.

Lots of parts of Angeles NF are still open. Just the 2 is closed.

There's also Icehouse Canyon, Baldy, Winter Creek... etc. - not technically Angeles I don't think but all open.

Plus there's hikes and places to camp if you come down the top of the 2 in Wrightwood area and such.

Yeah, I'm not sure how far it's closed and can't find that info.
