From animal hoarders to shopping addicts, reality television is no stranger to chronicling the bizarre habits of others. But Adele, featured in recent episode of TLC's My Strange Addiction, just may win the prize for oddest infliction yet: She can't stop eating couch cushions.

Adele began ingesting the foamy furniture when she was ten years old, and on a daily basis, she says she eats a full eight-by-eleven chunk. "I just take little bite-sized pieces and snack on it all day," she said. In her lifetime, she has polished off seven couches and two chairs.

I call bullshit too.  Most shit on reality TV is fake.  Living in LA you see lots of ads looking for actors in reality shows.  And even if the producers aren't going out of their way to find actors for their shows, if someone comes in with something really weird that will sell, they won't do any sort of fact checking to see if they're lying or not.  They don't care.  It's not in their interest to do so. 

Seriously, almost everything on reality TV is not real.

You really think they could pay her enough to go on national TV and admit that if it was true?  She says she doesn't even "eat cushion" in public.

After watching that, though, I do have a really strange urge to bite into a couch cushion.  Kinda like after watching one of those commercials for "restless leg syndrome" I need to get up and walk around for a while...  :sad:
