Lake Mead Tripping (a photo journal)
    #1361100 - 03/09/03 04:49 PM (21 years, 25 days ago)

Hi Folks. Just returned from a little day-tripping out in the wilderness. Wish y'all could have joined me for the beauty. Well this is my way of sharing my day with you. For me, this is as spiritual as it gets.

On the hike along the way, a brilliant splash of purple.

Ah, another gorgeous day at Lake Mead.

Love dem mountains!

Hmmm, what type of lure would you expect to find while tripping? Try to read the name. (Mystic Spook!)

Check out the major drought. The white line at the base of the mountain indicates a 35 foot drop in water level! Unbelievable in a lake this size.

What trip is complete without your basic sunset?

Or your not so basic sunset. Check out the colors. My camera must have been tripping too.

And finally, a lovely and serene twilight photo to end our journey together.

Hope you enjoyed the hike with me.

Obviously these thumbnail photos do not do justice to the magnificence. If I am not swamped with requests, I will e-mail full size photos to those who PM me.

The best way to live
is to be like water
For water benefits all things
and goes against none of them
It provides for all people
and even cleanses those places
a man is loath to go

Be careful what you ask for...

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

And this is a good example of why one should not trip and drive.

Coming home from the lake:

Hahah swami..  this one time I drove on shrooms and they didn't kick in until the way back from where we had to go, (it was a short trip to the store) and OH MAN!! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE!!!

That was a long time ago, and I won't even drive under the influence of pot now, but I thought I'd share.

No one knows the worth of innocence till he knows it is gone forever, and that money can't buy it back. Not the saint, but the sinner that repenteth, is he to whom the full length and breadth, and height and depth, of life's meaning is revealed. Good and evil loose all objective meaning and are seen as equally necessary and contrasting elements in the masterpiece that is the universe.
