An Herbal Remedy for Depression

Yeah I know the title seems like bullshit, but hear me out.

I was on Prozac for a time, for many reasons, I was seeing three different doctors (a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist/analyst) who tried diagnosing a bunch of different things. They danced around depression, social anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder and whatnot. While I was on Prozac, I stopped feeling hopeless and sad and restless, but I also didn't feel better, I didn't have my old energy back, I felt absolutely nothing. This is the problem with a lot of prescriptions, they shut you down. I had dated a girl once who said she felt like she wasn't living the first half of her life because her parents had made her see a doctor for a slew of things, and I've talked to a lot of people who seem to have the same experience.

This made me try a TON of different natural things, and herbal supplements until I found something called "good days" which has literally changed my life. Unlike prescriptions, where something can take weeks or months to start having an effect, good days kicks in within hours and makes EVERYTHING seem so manageable and non stressful. I used to sweat bullets throughout the day, ruining clothes and feeling completely stupid and embarrassed, now theres barely a drop throughout my day, my thought process is extremely upbeat, and instead of getting easily irritated and annoyed I'm rather forgiving and easy to talk to (this used to be how I was until a lot of events took their toll) I had a lot of social stigmas and issues and I throughout my day my level of anxiety was similar to having three or four shots of espresso back to back.

oh yeah, forgot to mention, weed is the BEST herbal remedy! but it's actually indica that's more medical based..

but there are many generations who don't subscribe to the "evil world of drugs" anyways, some of us have to be clean for our careers too. in general, if you don't like smoking, check that stuff out.

Ayahuasca is good for some people too; chemically it works just like an older class of antidepressants.

Indica's usually dont have any kind of antidepressant effect, they are used more to manage pain and insomnia. Sativa's are antidepressants and are a more cerebral high.

hmm, interesting.. it has been a while since i've done reading on the subject, but i prefer indica to sativa, as it's usually a mix when you're buying bags and more often than not i think i've gotten more sativa in my weed, so I notice the difference. my shit does put my roomies to sleep though, as i live with a scientist who is up at all hours, we've had an excess of g13 for most of 2010.
