Amanita Muscaria or amerimuscaria?
    #13449934 -

These were found on the coast in OR, growing at the entrance to a state park.  The big guy was, well, BIG.  Three little buttons too!  Is it muscaria? The muscaria I found years ago were red, rather than orange/red.

Possibly a stupid question, but are Amanita Muscaria & Amerimuscaria the same thing? I've never heard them referred to as Amerimuscaria before.

Cheers.

Apparently genetic sequencing has shown that all A. muscaria in North America is different enough from Eur-Asian A. muscaria that it has been given the amerimuscaria species name.  All of them in the US, Canada and Mexico are amerimuscaria.
