That article was the biggest piece of OP-Ed bias Shit, i have ever seen.

sure we trippled the deficit to unknown heights..... sure we passed a health care bill that will have no effect for anyone in the next few years.... and yeah, we bailed out GM, and were going to make some money on that (were fucked on the other big bailouts btw)..... oh, and there was a one time tax cut!

what about the fucking over of the nations and worlds economic policy? And i still haven't seen BP raked over the coals for the biggest ecological disaster in history (although i did see a TON of misleading information about all the 177 million gallons of oil being mysteriously 'gone)

no one was buying our existing treasury bonds ISSUED BY THE TREASURY (the US GOVT)

so in order to get these things purchased, the FEDERAL RESERVE PRINTED A SHIT TON OF MONEY that has no value to buy them.

now we are paying interest on money that was printed out of the blue...... 

Which means that the dollar THE US GOVT bought from itself has to be paid back by THE US GOVT later, for more than a dollar.

Its like paying off a loan of a $1.00 with $1.10 later.... I.E. THE DOLLAR's VALUE IS GOING TO PLUMMET

I would have loved to see the healthcare reform turn into something more like it is here in England, but I'm sensible enough to know that corporate America wouldn't allow it. We wouldn't want to be socialists and all. :whatever:

I haven't seen a medical bill in the five years that I've lived here (they don't exist), nor have I seen a commercial for prescription drugs. You have no idea what a relief it is. Nobody has to worry about going bankrupt when they are diagnosed with a life threatening disease.. nobody has to worry about losing their job while they are undergoing treatment.. the list goes on. People are so unbelievably selfish and misinformed. :shrug:


Anyway, I think people like to have someone to blame...

We are not likely to ever see a profit from GM and Chrysler.  We have made impressive profits already from the bank bailout, AIG may yet pan out to even or close and Fannie and Freddie are ongoing horror shows.  Just wanted to inject some facts.  Oh yeah, about those tax cuts.  I'm not sure.  I didn't get one.  And until they publish the 2010 tax tables all those supposed cuts are just withholding changes.  Did you know that you can give yourself the exact same "tax cut" any time you want by adding an exemption?  You still have to pay the tax, though, eventually.  I went looking for the 2010 tax tables and couldn't find them.  They aren't out yet.  Odd, isn't it?

It most certainly is failing.

I travel between the states and the UK a lot... believe me, I like it when the dollar falls because my £'s are worth a hell of a lot more when I go home and visit. In September  when I went back to the states £1 = $1.50.. today £1 = $1.66.

It's not as bad as it was a couple of years ago when £1 = $2.00.. not that I was complaining.

Check your facts before you start rambling, please.

The fact of the matter is that, barring grotesque calamities, it is a homeostatic system.  Dollar goes down, exports go up, which strengthens the dollar which makes exports go down, which weakens the dollar, which makes exports go up, which strengthens the dollar..............

There is nothing there that I would characterize as failing.  Normal fluctuation.
