It looks like it might be an active Psilocybe. Nice find.

They defiantly have purple spores. you can see them on the one cap below the dark one. Does it have a separable pellicle?

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

He said it was sticky, so you'd reckon so.

Look like odd liberty caps to me. Strictipes might also be possible?

Also is obviously hygrophanous, which is usually a trait of psilocybes. Nice finds.

Some have gone really flat in a way that is atypical of libs. I say they're not libs but other opinions will be interesting.

I think Lanceata is spot on with P. strictipes. The little nipple bit is not a lighter shade of brown than the rest of the cap, so that rules out P. semilanceata.

Psilocybe strictipes is what I would think they are as well.

separable what? im a beginner :-)

"hygrophanous" - yes

there are sh*t loads of them, excuse the pun ;-)

def. think they are Stricitipes: http://mycologie.catalogne.free.fr/ImagePagePhoto/Psilocybe_strictipes.jpg

with your help, im getting used to this game now :-) its so exciting, the buzz of the hunt is great. the thing was that i was only going for a walk today without any hunt... and i bump into a whole area of mushys that are within an ORGANIC certified area! so they are organic too. i didnt believe that magics were in scotland! i wish i picked more up now!

Separable gelatinous pellicle (which I can see these have), means that if you tear a crack into the cap you will be able to separate the top slimey gelatinous layer off the pileus (cap) when they are wet.

I would also call them P. strictipes.

Were they growing within grass with dung around or directly from dung?

they were growing around oldish dung and some inside it. but i think even the ones in the background were in very old dung.

I believe the foreground shows Stropharia semiglobata.
