I believe the one in the pics is Boletus truncatus or Boletus chrysenteron (Xerocomus chrysenteron), both are good edibles.

Im very new to this, but my guess is a Boletus rubellus.
Im trying to learn to ID mushrooms for myself and others, however, this is no way a right answer, I would just like to compare my findings with others.
Boletus rubellus have an olive spore deposit, was the spores an off-white or pure white?
Wait for others to respond, I am a newbie trying to learn as well

No, definetly not active!
I think most Boleti are edible, and quite tastey, but dont eat those yet until you have a 100% ID from the more experienced.

dont have a book handy, and im pressed for time, but is a boletus of some type. it is tough. unpalatable for so many reasons before we consider its toxicity. i have found them, cant remember which species that is though. inedible, no magic.
