ID mushrooms from Oregon *PIX*
    #1546093 - 05/13/03 07:58 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Hey guys, I found a pretty big patch of these guys on a lawn earlier today. They were drying out fairly rapidly in the sun and they ranged from pins to some that were probably about 3 inches in diameter. The bigger ones had actually spread their caps so big they had broken in many places and they looked like clovers almost. Here are a few for you nice people to help me identify.

Caps-- Whitish with an almost caramel hue.
Stems-Very white and hollow
Gills-See picture, very dark
Spore print-I am taking some now. They look like they are dark black.

Thanks guys, if you need more info, just tell me.

Those look exactly like some I found, but after like 3 min they still did not bruis blue so i don't think they are active. I don't think they are Coprinus micaceus because the ovelness of the cap isn't nearly that "intense". Im not sure what they are though or if they are even edible just to eat as food.

Definetly Coprinus, most likely micaceus

You guys got it. Coprinus, close to Coprinus micaceus.

Check the top of the cap (use a magnifier if possible) and see if there are tiny mica-like (sort of like glitter) particles on it. If there are, then those are definitely Coprinus micaceus.

Happy mushrooming!

As much as I would love to eat some of what I found, I'm not about too. These were found on a city block where fertilizers and dog piss might be present besides fungus. Thanks for the help IDing these though everyone.
