As a Braves fan, I have to admit that the Phillies stomped them into the ground. Oswalt, Hamels, and Halladay in the playoffs is a death sentence. If the Braves don't win the wild card, it will be akin to the Mets collapse in 2008.

True that...Honestly I was a little afraid with the Braves on fire and the Phils having more injuries than a crash on 95

Well you better enjoy it. The Phillies will not be this good for this long, and the Braves farm system pitching depth is ridiculous. The Ryan Howard contract is terrible and retarded.

After next season, EVERYONE'S(except Howard's) contract is up...Everyone but Werth's contract is set til after the 2011 season so we should still be beastly next season..kinda booty but hey, I'll remember these last 5 years :awesome:

Here's to another World Series, and hopefully another good run in 2011 too.

The only way we resign Werth is to a 1 year extension so stay with the rest of team and try to win another World Series with the same teammates he's been with...If not, Dom Brown is gonna have to step up big time and pull off some AAA numbers.

He should be good. Probably about half as good as Werth next season, however. I'd get a huge boner if the Braves signed Werth, he's hot too.

no way...he's gonna end up as a Yankee...maybe a Dodger...or maybe some random ass team that's not so hot right now but has big money

And honestly, as much as I love him, I think Chooch is on PEDs....hes just to fucking good...he's gonna put up MVP numbers if his progression continues the way it has by 2012, and theres's no way the Phils won't resign him he loves it here.

Well see how the phlis can close the season at Turner Field.  Phils crushed at home but who wouldn't with the playoff like atmosphere and everyone spinning those rags around.  But considering Bobby put in two rookie pitchers (for some unknown reason) leads me to believe the had already tacked up losses in Philly and is resting the big guns for the final 9.  All things considered Bravos almost won two of those games, granted almost works for horseshoes not baseball I think the next series will be a different story.

:thumbdown: Nope...Phils do HORRIBLE against young pitchers or pitcher's they never faced, when Cox throws out his vets the Phils are gonna bat them around like they should do to the young guns. And the Phils are gonna win 100 this season and the Braves are gonna lose the wildcard to the GonzalezTulowitzkis...I mean the Rockies.

Mike Minor was already in the rotation and Beachy, the other kid, was filling in for Jurrjens, who was hurt.

I understand that Minor was already in the rotation, but with only 8 starts and an ERA of 9.00 in his previous 4 starts it seems like Bobby could have expended some other options.

As for the next series, I really don't think its going to be nearly the same considering the home field advantage and the fact that Charlie Manuel should be wanting to rest some of his starters during the last 3 games of the season.

A good friend of mine is a Braves fan, and even you would have to find this mildly amusing

He tried convincing me the only reason the Braves lost was due to injuries. He really pulled that card out after the Phils season:facepalm:

I have no delusions thinking the Phillies are or were worse. They could have easily won 100 games if everyone was healthy. They're not going to be good in three years, however.

Our farm isn't that great and everyone but Howard's contracts will be up. In 3 years, The Braves will be more worried about the Marlins and the Nats creeping up with all their good young players...The Mets however, will still suck.
